0:01Hayden:All right, he's taking a dat. Yeah, all right, that's the normal data.

0:06Tom:man, I don't want to hear any.

0:07Hayden:All right, go ahead.

0:09Mitch:Speed it up.

0:10Hayden:Come on, go ahead, go ahead.

0:13Mitch:Do it, do it, do it. You can't even hear the song Ah .

0:35Hayden:I like starting the podcast this way. Tom's face is already red. Hello, welcome to Entertain this. A podcast about movies, tv shows and video games, and Tom licking hot sauce. Hi Tom and Mitch laughing at Tom.

0:51Mitch:Hello.

0:53Hayden:Last week, tom took hot sauce, he evacuated his bowels and said another dirty word whilst recording the same episode. So this is his comeuppance.

1:04Tom:We agreed to postpone it for a week off. It was cold Last time I threw up.

1:11Hayden:It is true. Hopefully you don't do that again. The episode has just started.

1:16Tom:I lost it when I took it. I swallowed wrong you swallowed wrong.

1:22Mitch:Infinitely worse, it hurt to breathe.

1:26Hayden:You can tell he's like thinking about how to say his words before he says it. Now, this is like. This is like some sort of psycho psychology, like make you think before you speak. Time, this should be a study, all right, before we begin. Mitch social media.

1:44Mitch:Well, Tom, you can go to entertainthispodcastcom. You can, that's awesome. You can go to entertainthispodcastcom which will take you to our Facebook group and page. 2:03Tom:this podcast is brought to you by Get Bitten Hot Sauce Black Mamba 6 Hot Sauce Available in stores near you.

2:11Hayden:What's that? Like the Anus Blaster 5000 that they use on hot ones. They have like the goofiest hot sauce names.

2:18Tom:The Last Dab.

2:20Hayden:Well, that's the thing that they do, but yeah.

2:22Tom:This was featured on that show.

2:23Hayden:The Get Bitten one. Yeah, huh, you could have been on that show. Would you eat a whole hot wing doused in that? No, so all right. What are we talking about today ? Mitch Pain, pain.

2:44Mitch:Pain, nostalgia, stuff yeah.

2:47Hayden:I just watched this.

2:49Mitch:Well.

2:50Hayden:I watched the Carlton . What's the Carlton? What's his name? The?

2:53Tom:guy that plays him Alfonso something. Yeah, Riviera.

2:57Hayden:Oop Hit again America's Funniest Home Videos. I watched that with my kids at least once a week.

3:03Mitch:But yeah, today we're talking about a little bit of nostalgia stuff, which is basically forgotten movies from when we were kids that we thought were good then. Might not necessarily be good now, but that's kind of our topic for today.

3:19Hayden:Okay.

3:21Mitch:Yeah.

3:22Hayden:Well, would you like to go first?

3:24Mitch:I will, okay, and my first movie will be Bushwhacked. Have y'all ever seen that? I've never even heard of it, you've never heard of it.

3:33Hayden:No, it sounds like a stupid Chuck Norris movie.

3:36Mitch:It's got Daniel Stern , the guy that plays Marv Marv From Home Alone.

3:41Tom:The greatest scream of all time in a movie.

3:45Mitch:Basically in this movie. He's on the run from the FBI, so he's a con man and he passes himself off as a scout leader and takes these kids on a camping trip. He's on the run and basically this family or this group of parents assume that he's the scout leader called Spider, spider, spider. So he leads the scout troop on their little camping trip as he's trying to pretend to be sneaking away from the FBI. So he's not a country person at all and he's leading these Boy Scouts through the woods trying to teach them how to earn their merit badges.

4:22Hayden:He's just making up stuff as he goes along.

4:23Mitch:Yeah, like he sees people chasing him. He's like, all right, here's your bridge running badge. And there's like a rope bridge. He's like hurry. He's like pushing the kids across the rope bridge. Wow, like one kid's starting to fall and he's like see, you got to have courage. If you don't have courage, you're going to die. And and he's looking over his shoulder we're all going to die. And then he gets to the other side of the bridge and the one kid's still hanging on. He's like all right, I just have to give you that courage. So he gets out his knife, starts cutting the ropes and the kid's like, all right, you convinced me. And he starts running. But then, as the kid gets, off.

5:02Hayden:He cuts the bridge so the people following can't chase.

5:12Tom:Unfortunately, that's the uh, not even the most unsafe thing that goes on the boy scouts.

5:14Mitch:I'm glad I wasn't a boy scout, but uh, or a priest, you know, a choir boy. This movie came out in a 95 but it starred daniel stern, john palito um and brad sullivan whoa is this?

5:22Hayden:is this where Daniel Slurton falls off of a waterfall for like 30 minutes? I think so yeah.

5:26Tom:Okay, I do remember this movie, yeah.

5:28Mitch:I do remember this I never saw this it was actually at one time this movie was rumored to be a Home Alone spinoff where. Marv was going to reprise his role and he was just trying to do good, but then they ended up writing that whole thing out good, but then they ended up like writing that whole thing out making his own thing.

5:45Hayden:Yeah, okay, because I do remember it was. He has the same character essentially pretty much.

5:47Mitch:I mean, he acts the same and then, uh, thanks still recovered over there, but uh, no attention I was looking at some of the trivia about this movie and they talked about daniel stern. He said, basically he avoided all exercise when it came to like the they were supposed to do. He's like he wanted to stay true to his character, not being any kind of outdoorsman at all.

6:10Hayden:That is a committed actor, right there.

6:12Tom:That's good acting on his part.

6:15Mitch:It's a really funny movie. It's just one of those slapstick kind of comedies and stuff. I really liked it.

6:23Hayden:One of my movies from my childhood is Flight of the navigator. No, no, none of you have seen this, right, no, okay, so I'll just read the quick synopsis. It's a 1970 disney adventure that tells the story of a 12 year old, david uh, who lives with his family in fort lauderdale, florida, because everything great happens there. Yeah, when he awakens from being accidentally knocked out in the forest near his home, he finds the eight years have passed. His family is overjoyed to have him back, but just as perplexed as he is by the fact that he hasn't aged. This person didn't write very well. When a NASA scientist discovers a UFO nearby, david gets a chance to unravel a mystery and recovers the life he lost.

7:06Hayden:So this was like one of the first movies that had a computer-generated anything. It was like a spaceship. It was really chrome and it would change in size and it was like the coolest-looking thing when I was a kid because I had never seen anything animated like that. It was the first computer-animated thing I'd ever seen on TV and it was awful. If you watch it today, it's terrible. It has this giant eyeball like the Star Wars thing, from the gate in Jabba the Hutt's palace it's basically that Sticks around and talks to him the entire time. Okay yeah, I think.

7:42Mitch:I've seen that once it comes on Disney+, isn't it?

7:46Hayden:Or was it a Disney movie? It is a Disney movie. Yeah, I think I've seen it, maybe once. Yeah, it's got like a seven, you know, on most reviews, but the music was done by Alan Silvestri, so there you go. Oh nice, All right. Well, All right, Tom, what's a movie from your childhood Time? Bandits, All right talk about it.

8:04Tom:I've never heard of this. Little people, big adventure. But young history buff, Kevin this is when you Google it can scarcely believe it. When six dwarves emerged from his closet one night Former employees of the supreme being, which is God they stole a map that's charting all the holes in the fabric of time and they're using it to steal treasure from different historical eras. Okay, it's, return the map, Return what you have stolen from me.

8:34Hayden:Well, so I have watched this movie. I mean parts of it, because I fell asleep a lot, even as a kid watching it. I just remember Sean Connery's disembodied head screaming at people.

8:43Tom:Sean Connery isn't a disembodied head.

8:45Hayden:He's not. Who's a disembodied head Different?

8:47Tom:dude? Oh, Because he appears at the end of the movie and he's like a stuffy British guy in a three-piece suit. And he appears at the end of the battle. He's like dusting himself off with like a newspaper and he's like, all right, there we go. But I mean these midgets, shanghai, the kid.

9:09Hayden:Hey little people.

9:11Tom:They're midgets Led by Randall. There goes a percentage of her and Wally and Strutter and Og and the rest of them, and they go through different like Napoleon, the Napoleonic era, which is hysterical because they're doing like a stage performance and like they don't think it's funny because they haven't come on stage yet. So it's just like the puppets beating the crap out of each other. And someone shoots one of the puppeteers and he's just like ah , like the dude like stands up in the box and dies and they come out doing their whole dance . But they're bumping into each other, they start getting mad, they start beating the snot out of each other and Napoleon stands up and goes to clap but he only has one hand.

9:51Tom:So he goes to clap, he's looking at his nub and his assistant says just hold his hand down real quick. And the guy's like that's Ian Holm.

10:04Hayden:He plays Napoleon. The movie was made by.

10:07Tom:Terry Gilliam. Terry Gilliam Featuring John Cleese as Robin Hood.

10:11Hayden:So it was pretty much a Python, michael Pallon, a Python vein, when they do the Robin Hood thing.

10:17Tom:It's hysterical because he's giving items to the poor and his goons are just standing there. As soon as someone takes something, one of them just decks them in the face.

10:25Hayden:So if you want to see a weird Terry Gilliam, but still be funny like in a Monty Python.

10:29Tom:That's the movie for you they got Sean Connery like as a joke, like they just hit him up, like they called like hey, we're gonna do this movie, we want you to play this part, even answer the phone or even just go like I'll do it or like say no. And then Sean Connery was just like wait, you guys make him. Yeah, yeah, when are you doing it? I can be there, I can do those days and they're like really Holy crap, we got Sean Connery.

10:54Hayden:All right, what do you got Mitch?

10:55Mitch:Well, the next one that I had was double dragons. Oh as a kid. Terrible movie. It is bad. I tried to watch it. I do not remember this film. It's based, quote unquote, on the game.

11:07Hayden:Yeah, just the name.

11:09Mitch:The game and the movie have nothing in common, other than they pretty much use the names of the characters.

11:13Hayden:I think somebody does punch a car at some point, don't they? I don't know.

11:18Mitch:It stars Robert Patrick Mark.

11:21Hayden:Dacascos, it stars a man.

11:23Mitch:And Scott Wolf. No, robert Patrick is a T-1000. Yeah, he's a T-1000.

11:27Tom:And Mark Dacascos is, and he's the colonel from the Unit, that television show featuring Dennis Haysbert.

11:32Mitch:Supposed to be the Unit, the All-State man.

11:33Tom:Suck my unit.

11:35Mitch:He was also the Red Dragon in Peacemaker. Not Red Dragon, but Dacaskis is the Asian guy that's like the ninja that fights John Wick in the most recent one.

11:45Tom:Oh, okay, oh, that guy.

11:47Mitch:Yeah, and then Scott Wolf, he was on. I think they said he was on Party of Five and some other things like that.

11:52Tom:I feel like he should have done more with a name that cool yeah you would think who are you?

11:59Mitch:Scott Wolf, but basically it's two brothers have half of this powerful medallion and this evil gang leader has the other half and they're fighting over who has control of the whole thing. So there's like a war in the streets of the future of 2007, los Angeles.

12:16Tom:Crime ridden Detroit.

12:19Mitch:But yeah, it's. I mean it was a fun movie as a kid. But looking back on it now it's just like why is this a thing? It's it's. I mean it was a fun movie as a kid, but looking back on it now it's just like why is this a thing? It's bad. There's one guy called Bilbo, that like he, just he gives no, bilbo, like the like the hot Bilbo Baggins. Yeah, Except for you said the word it becomes this metastasized like Shrek looking thing, the word it becomes this metastasized like Shrek looking thing that they have to fight.

12:47Hayden:So it's like a crappier version of Little China . Yeah, big Trouble in Little China.

12:52Tom:Yeah.

12:52Hayden:That's a great movie. Yeah, the T-1000, that guy with his like dopey ears that stick way out, remember, yeah, isn't that him, his Remember. Yeah, isn't that him. His ears like have you ever looked at his ears? He's got like elf ears.

13:04Tom:Yeah, I don't make a habit to stare at people's ears.

13:07Hayden:It's pretty noticeable. They protrude quite far from his head, but this is still when he was like skinny and like you know.

13:13Mitch:But the ears don't change.

13:14Hayden:We had a kid in basic in the army. He looked just like him. He had the ears and everything biter, because everybody would. He was kind of slow. Sorry, our drill sergeants would be like you he's trying.

13:26Tom:He handles heavy weapons. He's trying. Yeah, that's the army for you.

13:29Mitch:He's trying to bite his own ear look at him, he's like going for it. In this movie robert patrick would wear like a black suit, have it like this, like bleach blonde, like crew cut, and then have his little earrings in.

13:43Tom:I mean, that was the thing that's sad's sad that he was in that movie.

13:46Mitch:Yeah it was.

13:47Tom:He put in a lot of effort as the T-1000 to look like and act and talk like he wasn't breathing.

13:55Hayden:To learn how to sprint without breathing through your mouth, then?

13:57Tom:you learn how to shoot without closing his eyes.

13:59Mitch:When did Terminator 2 come out?

14:00Tom:1992.

14:02Mitch:Okay, so this was two years after that. If this was two years after, that, oh, oh.

14:05Tom:If this was before T2 , I'd have been like, all right.

14:08Hayden:Somebody told him hey , we're going to do a movie based off a video game. It's the new thing. Everybody's going to love it, Everybody's doing it, everybody's doing it.

14:13Tom:Did you watch that Mario movie? It's going to be great my movie is.

14:15Hayden:mom and dad saved the universe.

14:17Tom:No, save the world, save the world, and uh, you sure Yep.

14:31Hayden:And it's a here. I'll read the thing for you. While planning to destroy Earth , a gigantic laser beam, emperor Todd Spango, played by John Lovitz, ruler of the planet Spango, catches a glimpse of his housewife, marge Nelson, terry Gar Marge Nelson, and becomes smitten with her beaming Marge and her husband, dick. Jeffrey Jones, the principal from Ferris Bueller up to Spango from California, the daft, dim-witted leader tries to woo her and sends her spouse to prison. Soon Dick is plotting an insurgency in hopes of overthrowing Spango and rescuing his wife. Sorry, I spoke too long without breathing.

15:16Tom:I forgot how to breathe.

15:19Hayden:It's not great. It's got like a 12% in Rotten Tomatoes and it's pretty rightfully so. There's a lot of animatronics and there's like a baby alien that looks like a dinosaur. It's like following around the whole time in this weird spaceship and they're basically just muddling through this city-wide spaceship trying to I don't know to save the world or whatever, and they're just making really dated references.

15:41Tom:the entire time.

15:43Hayden:But as parents it's pretty bad. Also, Jeffrey Jones is a convicted pedophile in real life . The movie doesn't age very well , but other than that I got some nostalgia for it, so yeah.

15:56Tom:Come on, Jeffrey. This is Sergeant Peterson with the Chicago Police All right.

16:01Hayden:What's your movie, tom?

16:02Tom:The Last Starfighter.

16:04Hayden:That is a good movie that everybody's seen, but go ahead.

16:06Tom:I talk to a lot of people who have not seen this film.

16:09Hayden:Well, don't listen to our podcast.

16:11Tom:Like when I first saw it, like it was on VHS and like my mom was like, holy crap, they have this. Yeah, it's like you guys gotta watch it. Like this movie's awesome. And me and my brother like, ah, we'll watch it. Like it can't be that good if you're all happy. And uh, it's actually based on a real event that's happening a war in space between factions and whoever gets like this high score is recruited to fly.

16:43Mitch:I do remember A starfighter in this world.

16:47Hayden:Like every boy played video games. Hope that that was real. Yeah, just for that.

16:53Tom:It's like small soldiers or something. It's like you woke up up in the middle of the night and quickly stared at your GI Joe, so you could catch him moving.

16:58Hayden:It's just like huh.

16:59Tom:Yeah, but I mean that was great. I love that movie. Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed that film I mean the first time I watched it More like Battlestar Galactica, because the Viper helmets and stuff like that, yeah, I was torn between saying either the Last Starfighter or Saga of a Star World, which was the TV movie for Battlestar Galactica.

17:24Mitch:When did the Last Starfighter come out In?

17:26Tom:the 1980s. It was definitely the late 80s.

17:30Mitch:Okay, I wasn't sure it was late 70s.

17:31Tom:I'll give you mid to late 80s. I think it actually did have some sort of computer effect in it. I think it actually did. Yes, it wasn't a bad movie. It was kind of one of those. It was a Star Wars ripoff.

17:44Hayden:It was an action movie targeted for 12-year-old boys.

17:47Tom:Last Starfighter came out in 1984. Okay, yeah.

17:50Mitch:Because I'd never seen it like the whole thing, or at least not that I remember, but I do remember seeing parts of it.

17:55Tom:But it was a lot of Star Wars and a lot of Battlestar Galactica. Easily you could pick out, especially with, like the uniform designs.

18:02Hayden:But it was goofy because they do like the X-Wing like configurations and they have like these awesome-looking dudes with their cool helmets and this like getting a formation with them, like yelling at them, telling them what to do. So it's kind of stupid.

18:16Tom:But I enjoyed that movie, yeah All right Mitch.

18:20Hayden:Well, I had suburban commando. You've seen this, that's. That's the Hulk Hogan one right . Yes, it is.

18:29Mitch:As a kid, I love this movie. Basically it's Hulk Hogan, christopher Lloyd and Shelley Duvall. That's like the main cast.

18:36Hayden:Let me guess Christopher Lloyd was the bad guy.

18:38Mitch:No, really.

18:39Tom:Shelley was the bad guy.

18:42Hayden:She's stuck in Popeye mode though.

18:45Mitch:Basically, Hulk Hogan plays Shep Ramsey, an interstellar hero who goes on, shep, ramsey, shep. Ramsey.

18:52Tom:He's like playing Gordon Ramsey as his chef. Just put a command down.

18:56Mitch:He's an interstellar hero who goes on R&R to Earth.

18:59Tom:These weapons are dirty.

19:06Mitch:Well, his nemesis sends an intergalactic bounty hunters after him while he's there on his R&R, yeah, but basically, like he lands his ship and I, for whatever reason, he's an alien and like Christopher Lloyd and Shelley Duvall are this family that he stays with, I don't remember. It's been a while since I've seen it. I don't know like how they just aren't like, oh my God, you know he's an alien because he parks his spaceship in their garage.

19:26Tom:Yeah, it's amazing, it fits in the garage.

19:29Mitch:But Christopher Lloyd , like he drives him around and is showing him to town and stuff . But there's this one part where there's a girl who's crying and her cat's up in the tree and Hulk Hogan's just walking down the street.

19:42Tom:Hulk Hogan-ing about as Hulk.

19:43Mitch:Hogan is just muffling his mustache. Well, she's crying and she goes my cat, my cat. And he looks up and he goes oh, I'll help you, little girl. He grabs the tree and just bends down the limb.

19:54Hayden:I thought he was going to shoot the cat. He just blows the tree up.

19:57Mitch:Well, he bends the limb down and she goes that's not my cat, and he just goes okay, let's go, the cat goes, wow. Well, actually doing some research, I found that the little girl in this movie is Elizabeth Moss. Oh, wow, Look at that, I wrote down. She plays the annoying little girl with the cat.

20:15Hayden:That's awesome. Everybody has to get started somewhere.

20:17Mitch:But it's a fun movie just because he's got this futuristic armor stuff that he wears, but then he trades it all away to be the beach kind of guy.

20:32Tom:But Christopher Lloyd's To be Thunder in.

20:33Mitch:Paradise Pretty much he dresses just the same. Christopher Lloyd To be Thunder in Paradise. Hulk Hogan Pretty much he dresses just the same. But, living with Christopher Lloyd's character, he has these redneck neighbors that have this giant, some kind of drag race car or whatever. They always block his driveway. Hulk Hogan's character goes don't worry, I got this Just because he lifts the car and moves it.

20:57Tom:That seems like pretty much the whole of the movie is just Hulk Hogan saying don't worry, I got this, and just kind of lifts the car and moves it. That seems like pretty much the whole of the movie is just Hulk Hogan saying don't worry, I got this, and just moving things. He moves a mountain With muscles.

21:02Mitch:Also research, and I found out that originally, before they made the movie Twins , this was supposed to be instead of Christopher Lloyd and Hulk Hogan, it was supposed to be Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.

21:11Hayden:Oh, that would have been a lot cooler movie.

21:13Mitch:It probably would have. Yeah, twins was not a good movie, twins was a great movie.

21:17Tom:I didn't like it. Aw, screw you.

21:19Mitch:I could still watch Suburban Commando and laugh, just because it's a funny movie. Yeah.

21:24Hayden:All right, I got like five.

21:31Mitch:So have you guys seen .

21:32Hayden:The Wizard? No, okay, I do have a couple more that I listed. I wasn't sure how many I wanted . I'm just going to rapid fire. The Wizard, ben Savage and some autistic kid go on like a Mario 3 escapade across America to win a Super Mario Bros tournament as a game comes out. Oh, okay, and prove their worth , all right.

21:46Tom:No, okay, war games With Matthew Broderick.

21:49Hayden:Yeah, good movie.

21:50Mitch:I don't know that one .

21:51Hayden:Basically Matthew. I don't know that one, but basically Matthew Broderick is really good at what is that.

21:56Tom:Whatever that simulator is, like this World War.

21:59Hayden:It used to be an old Atari arcades. It was like Missile.

22:03Tom:Command.

22:04Hayden:It was Missile Command and basically the computer overlord of America wanted to create war with Russia and they were playing Missile Command and they were going to lose, and this was like a simulation of what was going to happen between the war with Russia. And they were playing Missile Command and they were gonna lose . And this was like a simulation of like what was gonna happen between the war with Russia. And so then David Matthew Broderick challenges it to a game of tic-tac-toe and just they always get a cat's game and he basically like locks it into a paradox and the computer gives up. There's that one enemy, mine all right day. Dennis Quaid gets stuck on an alien planet with this like

22:38Hayden:other alien that they're at war with and they are like trying to kill each other for the first half of the movie and then like they become friends to survive and then the alien, who's a man, gives birth to a baby and then he gets rescued and then he has to like to help the baby cope with living with Earth and basically overcome racism. Interesting movie Interspace.

23:01Tom:No.

23:01Hayden:All right, martin Short and Dennis Quaid are able to shrink down really tiny. A lot of Dennis Quaid stuff here yeah. Dennis Quaid was a big part of my childhood. And then shrink really tiny and go inside bodies and basically try and fight diseases and stuff like that.

23:14Tom:This sounds like a movie long version of some episode of like Magic School Bus .

23:17Hayden:Yeah, well, I'm sure Magic School Bus probably based off this.

23:20Tom:Who played Miss Frizzle?

23:21Hayden:I just remember that one part in Inner Space like an assassin shrinks down and tries to go inside of Martin Short's body when Dennis Quaid's like rooting around in there and tries to kill him and they go to war in the stomach and he like pulls his mask off and the stomach acid like burns him turns him a little tiny skeleton inside of his stomach. Yeah, that's horrifying as a child I was quite perturbed by that. And then there was a uh. In disney there was a 3d ride that had like the seats that move around it was all like organs and heart palpitating and stuff like that, and I was the first time I ever got sick on a ride because it was so I had a movie that wasn't anything like that.

23:55Tom:It was Jack.

23:55Hayden:I got more, but go ahead, jack. Oh yeah, everybody's seen Jack.

23:59Mitch:Yeah.

24:00Hayden:I love. Jack.

24:01Tom:There's a lot of people I know who have never heard of that film.

24:03Mitch:That's one of my favorite movies. Why are you always falling on me?

24:05Tom:That was a great movie. So for those of you who don't know, robin Williams plays a boy Rapidly ages. So by the time he turns like 16 , he looks like he's 38. And I think when he graduates high school he has like gray hair.

24:19Hayden:He's like in his 80s?

24:20Tom:Yeah, he's aging rapidly Features him. I think Jeff Daniels is his dad .

24:25Mitch:No, not Jeff Daniels.

24:27Tom:Are you sure it wasn't?

24:27Mitch:Jeff Daniels, it's not Jeff Daniels.

24:28Tom:It looks like Jeff Daniels. I know Diane Lane plays the mom .

24:33Mitch:Jennifer Lopez is the teacher, oh yeah he kisses her. Fran.

24:41Hayden:Drescher is like his. Francis Ford Coppola directed this movie.

24:43Tom:Did he really, I did not know that. I did not know that at all. Whoa Fran.

24:48Mitch:Drescher was his best friend's mom.

24:50Hayden:It was Brian Kerwin as the dad, yeah, who nobody has ever heard of, nobody knows of him. And of course the teacher or his mentor was.

24:57Tom:Bill.

24:58Hayden:Cosby, yeah, which you know that also didn't age very well.

25:04Tom:Oh yeah.

25:04Hayden:All right. That's a great movie though.

25:06Tom:It is a good movie I thoroughly enjoyed that.

25:09Mitch:Yeah, that's why everybody's seen it. I mean, I know you've seen the Rocketeer, have you? Yes?

25:13Tom:I have seen the Rocketeer.

25:14Mitch:That was another one that I'd mentioned.

25:15Tom:Everybody's seen that Mitch.

25:16Mitch:Oh, okay, that's another one that.

25:17Tom:I'd listened to. Isn't that annoying? Everyone saw that it's got a really good soundtrack to the Rocketeer.

25:20Hayden:No, it doesn't, yeah, I was surprised.

25:28Tom:And then it also had Little Monsters. Have you all seen that when he's doing all the hijinks and he puts the cellophane over the toilet.

25:34Hayden:Yeah, they like the monsters come out from under the ground and all that, and then I had Encino man, encino Man's great.

25:40Mitch:I had a bunch more listed down, but I didn't take it.

25:42Hayden:There's also Under Wraps. Remember that movie. The mummy movie yeah the original one, not the one that came out. No, I didn't even know there was a new one that came out. Yeah, there's a new one.

25:53Mitch:They remade it, but it's nothing like the original.

25:56Tom:Recess schools out. It was a great movie.

25:59Hayden:Okay, it's based off the cartoon.

26:01Mitch:The Warriors of Virtue. As a kid I liked that movie.

26:04Hayden:I haven't seen that one.

26:04Mitch:It was like these, I think. I want to say it was like six or five kangaroo-looking characters. They were like martial artists. They had to go save the war, the world of virtue, but that's why they were the warriors of virtue Each, each one represent, or each kangaroo looking thing represented a different element, and I can't remember the whole movie, but I remember as a kid me and my brother would watch it all the time.

26:27Hayden:Johnny mnemonic.

26:28Mitch:I never watched that.

26:30Hayden:Keanu Reeves William Gibson book. It's based off of there's a talking dolphin. Yeah, it's like a super genius hacker dolphin.

26:40Tom:What do you think of some other ones, max? No, what was the name of that movie? It was a Nickelodeon movie. There was a bunch of Nickelodeon movies that were really good.

26:50Mitch:Susie Q remember that one. Oh, here they are.

26:53Tom:I thought that was a receipt.

26:55Mitch:A Kid and King Arthur , that one. Oh, here they are. I thought that was a receipt. A kid in King Arthur's Court, oh, that was a great one.

26:58Hayden:I remember, like the scene about the tomato.

27:00Tom:What was the one with the Sinbad one? It was like around the same time it came out. It was like a 90s thing.

27:05Mitch:Sinbad.

27:06Tom:It was like a you know Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court or Yan, but it was like that version. But it was like Sinbad, like the 40 Thieves. There was another one.

27:17Hayden:I think they're you know what I'm talking about no. No.

27:20Tom:I remember renting it at the library in Patchock on VHS as a wee boy Okay.

27:26Mitch:Then I had Baby's Day Out.

27:28Hayden:As a kid I liked that . I hate that movie.

27:30Mitch:Yeah, it's horrible. Now I don't think I've ever heard of that film. Basically it's like Home Alone, except for an actual baby outsmarts these three guys.

27:39Tom:So it's like baby geniuses.

27:40Mitch:Yeah Well, like he's- .

27:41Hayden:It's like based off of it, but not as funny.

27:43Mitch:The baby just crawls around and these people soon can't get it.

27:47Hayden:It's like a Bugs Bunny cartoon, but in live action.

27:49Mitch:Yeah, that sounds stupid man of the House with Chevy Chase and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I liked that as a kid where they go and they have to like survive in the woods.

27:58Tom:What was the Jonathan Taylor Thomas movie? It was like him and like brothers, where they got trapped in like the Alaskan wilderness.

28:02Mitch:Wild.

28:02Tom:America.

28:03Hayden:Wild America. Yeah, that was a great movie. That was awesome Without a Paddle, oh that's a great one.

28:10Tom:That's hey, look a bear Pulls a Budweiser out of a river. Why are you?

28:15Mitch:taking your shoes off . You cannot run the bear. I got to run you. I don't have to outrun the bear .

28:21Hayden:I'm trying to think of some other Ghost Dad.

28:24Tom:Oh yeah, ghost Dad, I never watched that one. Yeah, smart House, smart House.

28:31Mitch:That was the one with Peggy.

28:32Tom:Yeah with Married with Children. That was the one with Peggy. Yeah with Married with Children .

28:34Mitch:Yeah, oh, it was a Disney movie.

28:36Tom:Yeah she's like the first version of Alexa.

28:38Mitch:Surf Ninjas, oh yeah.

28:39Hayden:Surf Ninjas. What?

28:41Mitch:was the.

28:42Hayden:There was a sequel to that too, wasn't?

28:43Mitch:there? What was the rollerblading movie?

28:45Hayden:Brink, brink that movie. Every kid got rollerblades after that movie came out.

28:51Tom:No, we all got Rollerblades after the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger movie they had.

28:54Mitch:Motocross also. I liked that movie yeah.

28:58Tom:It was another Disney movie, little Rascals.

29:00Hayden:Nah.

29:01Tom:Nah. Well they had the rich kid from Richie Rich, who was a douche, and then they had Reba McIntyre.

29:06Hayden:Then there was and Darla. What was the movie with the problem child?

29:14Tom:Problem child is that what it's called Dennis the Menace. Dennis the Menace. Yeah, I thought about writing that down With Walter Matthau.

29:19Mitch:I thought about writing it down, but I wasn't sure if that was too I wanted to .

29:22Tom:When I was a kid I was like, ah Dennis. As I got older and watched it, I was like I want to smack the crap out of that kid, there's a bunch you know, I don't know.

29:35Hayden:I always like, relate to my early childhood science fiction shitty, shitty, bang bang yeah, that's a nightmare, actually that movie's nightmare fuel especially the child catcher, that dude but yeah, there's, there's a ton.

29:50Mitch:I wrote down, like George of the Jungle, the original one with Brendan Fraser oh, mighty Joe Young. Yeah, that's a good one of the Jungle, the original one with Brendan.

29:55Tom:Fraser oh, Mighty Joe Young, yeah me and my little girl watched that. Dunstan Checks In.

29:58Hayden:What about the Quest for Fire? A whole movie where not a single English word takes place. It's about cavemen trying to find fire.

30:05Tom:Yeah, do you remember Dunstan Checks In? That was a great movie, do you remember?

30:10Hayden:that one. No, the Page Master George. Oh, the Page Master, that was a great movie.

30:14Mitch:I love that movie. It was awesome.

30:17Tom:That's when it goes from animated to real life. Yeah.

30:19Mitch:I wasn't sure if that would be too main stage for y'all, so I left that one off the list.

30:22Hayden:I saw Henry and the Hendersons.

30:25Mitch:I had that one on the list too At one point.

30:27Hayden:And then I saw like a week later after I saw that, saw Cliffhanger and John Lithgow was the bad guy in that movie.

30:36Tom:He was so unbelievable. I was like I'm John Lithgow. I was like, stop it, I was waiting for him to have a punchline the entire time in that movie.

30:46Hayden:Just be nice, I know you can do it.

30:49Tom:I've seen you be happy.

30:51Hayden:File 9-9. Did you ever see that comedian make fun of John Lith's Go?

30:56Tom:no, alright, I don't know. Showed it to me later. That was a good one. What else I'm trying to think, like all like the old, like uh, just what?

31:04Mitch:oh, good Burger oh, I didn't like that movie. Welcome to Good Burger. That was like the first.

31:08Hayden:Nikola let me take your order.

31:11Tom:I had it on the orange VHS.

31:13Hayden:Yeah.

31:14Tom:Because what Arlie Ermey's in that movie?

31:18Mitch:Is he?

31:19Tom:At the end, towards the end. Because he like cocks like the Uzi and like dives out of the van Okay.

31:24Hayden:I haven't seen it, probably 25 years Ed Vigoda's in that movie.

31:27Tom:Yeah, what's his face ? Neil Patrick Harris is in that.

31:32Hayden:Oh, yeah, yeah, Neil Patrick.

31:34Tom:Harris is in that. Oh yeah, he's the dude who runs Mondo Burger. What?

31:36Hayden:about Almost Human. It's got the dude from.

31:41Tom:That's familiar.

31:42Hayden:Yeah, it's got the dude from Growing Pains, the dad Alan Thicke.

31:46Tom:Okay.

31:47Hayden:And he makes a robot son.

31:51Tom:That sounds like Bicentennial man.

31:53Hayden:No, it's not. It's not as good as Bicentennial man, but it's like Robot Son is trying to cope and be a human and stuff like that, so it's kind of like a modern Chipmunk Pinocchio.

32:03Mitch:Yeah, pretty much.

32:04Hayden:Yeah, there's that.

32:06Mitch:I remember Herbie and the Shaggy Dog Like the original one.

32:09Hayden:The Shaggy Dog, the Shaggy Dog punches that guy, that gif, where he just like the dog, runs at the dude and cuts him.

32:18Mitch:Do you remember the movie like the alien suit like comes out of space.

32:20Tom:Starkid, starkid and he's like inside the suit and makes like the burger or whatever in like a paste so he can drink it. I was trying to remember the name of that movie?

32:29Hayden:What about Short Circuit?

32:40Hayden:Yeah, that was a kid, I was older when that was big. I was younger than you guys, so but yeah, I don't know, that was good. There was lots of movies involving animals.

32:56Mitch:Yeah, it's always like that. Here's a dog that can talk. I can tell all of Hayden's involved like high-tech electronics or space.

33:00Hayden:Yeah, Hayden's like space, space, space. For some reason I really like science fiction? I don't know.

33:04Tom:Hayden ran around his house as a little kid, in a lab coat or something.

33:08Hayden:Nah he was Dexter.

33:10Tom:Yeah, he pretended he was.

33:11Hayden:Doctor who. I'm not smart enough to pretend to be Dexter. I just put it on like a bucket In my laboratory.

33:17Tom:He doesn't say laboratory, he goes laboratory.

33:19Hayden:I just put a bucket on my head and went around the house.

33:24Tom:That sounds like some crap. You do yeah.

33:28Hayden:Or pretended I was Indiana Jones. I got a bullwhip once for my birthday. And I hit myself in the face, like Indiana Jones. I was like how long did you have it and I stopped doing that because that really really hurt . And I didn't want to learn how to be better after that, so all right. Well, that was fun. I want to play a game.

33:45Tom:Is it time for the trivia?

33:49Mitch:It is. Can we get my notes out real quick? Oh sorry, I can't have notes for trivia?

33:54Hayden:No, you can't. You should have loaded the theme song for Prince's Pride.

33:58Mitch:Yeah, well, that requires time.

34:00Hayden:Nah, it's like one of the best scores. I mean like the Like the actual score throughout the movie is really crappy, but the instrumental score is really good. But the crappy score actually kind of adds to the flavor of the movie.

34:14Mitch:I did watch it like a day or two ago because it had been a while since I'd seen it.

34:17Tom:I watched it last night. All right, the Princess Bride, this is my bug.

47:53Mitch:Tyrone oh, that's right, yeah, I remember it was Rugen, but I couldn't remember the first name.

47:58Hayden:I remember seeing like oh yeah, you did. I remember hearing it was Tyrone and I was like that's a weird name for a guy.

48:04Tom:Question two what are the two classic blunders? Question two what are the two classic blunders?

48:09Mitch:I heard the boo Never go into a war, a land war, with China, I mean with Asia.

48:14Tom:Yes, and you fell for one of the classic blunders.

48:25Mitch:The best known is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but slightly less well known, is this Can I go?

48:31Hayden:I don't know, the other one, hayden. Don't ever trust a Sicilian. When death is on the line, don't go in against a Sicilian.

48:37Tom:when death is on the line, I'll give you both a point .

48:39Hayden:Yay.

48:41Mitch:I knew you would ask the one about the land war in Asia. That just seemed like a Tom question, but I didn't think about the other one.

48:47Tom:Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line, dead. Question three who directed the movie? I heard the boo. Oh, come on, I heard the boo.

49:01Hayden:All right, he doesn't know, though I wrote it down, rob Reiner.

49:05Tom:Yes, yes, mitch, it was Rob Reiner.

49:08Hayden:One.

49:08Tom:Yes, mitch, it was Rob Reiner.

49:10Hayden:One, two and three.

49:12Tom:I heard the boo. I heard the boo Mitch has taken the lead by one. That leaves one question All the marbles, everything to gain, everything to lose. Question number four who was the Dread Pirate Roberts before Wesley?

49:32Mitch:Ryan. Yes, yes, mitch, I knew that was a question Tom would ask as well. I was like this sounds like something Tom would ask.

49:45Hayden:Dang it.

49:45Mitch:I've been hating in Princess Bride trivia.

49:50Hayden:I call shenanigans and a couple of buzzes Go throw yourself into the fire, swamp I was just thrown off that they were different. Alright, what do you got Mitch?

49:58Mitch:I don't know, I wasn't prepared to actually win. Oh, you're gonna watch the Munsters on Netflix. Oof Alright fine I already know it was bad. I watched it myself, boo.

50:11Hayden:Didn't you review it though? No, okay, I thought you did review it.

50:14Mitch:No, I just told y'all about how bad it was, Like privately.

50:18Tom:Okay, I watched it. Okay, Mitch Mitch okay.

50:21Hayden:Well, you can talk about something for for 10 minutes, or I?

50:25Tom:just can't believe I won. It was a great trivia to write. I watched the movie last night and just laughed and picked up on all the nude lines. I didn't hear the last time.

50:34Hayden:I watched it two nights ago, he's gaining on us.

50:36Tom:You think he's using the same wind we're using.

50:38Hayden:I'm all rhyming, I mean it.

50:40Tom:Anybody want a peanut , not.

50:43Mitch:Well, I wrote down some of the stuff Like I was prepared, you know, just in case the ship was called or you asked what the ship was called.

50:49Tom:The Pirate Ship Revenge.

50:50Mitch:Yeah, pirate Ship Revenge, or what Vassini said that they were. They were lost circus performers.

50:58Tom:Or let's see how about a bonus trivia question? Okay, I'll throw this question, if you can get this.

51:06Hayden:I'll let either of you punish each other.

51:07Tom:Is this how it works? All right. So when Vecini and Vesig and everybody they're scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, vecini says he's going to leave. Andre the Giant left where he found him, which was what and where.

51:18Hayden:Greenland.

51:20Tom:Greenland, but as what?

51:24Hayden:Penniless.

51:26Tom:No, not penniless In Greenland penniless.

51:32Hayden:No, not penniless. Um, in greenland he said something and then in greenland, yeah, it's like uh which also begs the question where were these countries actually located ?

51:41Tom:yeah uh and vicinity apparently did a lot of traveling is it impoverished in Greenland?

51:48Hayden:You haven't got it All right. What is it?

51:51Tom:Unemployed, unemployed in Greenland.

51:55Mitch:Another thing I wrote down that I figured you would have asked is when they're getting ready to siege the castle. They're like man, if we only had a wheelbarrow.

52:01Hayden:That would be something.

52:02Tom:He's like we have a wheelbarrow. Why didn't you list that with the assets? Let me explain. No wait, there's too much. Let me sum up.

52:12Hayden:If we had that and a Holocaust cloak.

52:14Tom:And he just goes like this one.

52:16Hayden:It fit so nice that I could keep it. I thought those were the best two.

52:20Mitch:I'm the great pilot, robert there will be no survivors.

52:26Hayden:For your soul. It gets like super deep.

52:31Tom:Give me the key. I don't have a key. Fezzik rip his arms out.

52:34Mitch:Oh, you mean this key yeah.

52:37Tom:That's such a great move.

52:38Mitch:Or like when Inigo's trying to get through the door after the six-finger man runs away.

52:42Hayden:And he's just like throwing himself into it. And he's like Fe, he's throwing himself into it and he's like Fazek, he's getting away from me . He throws his arms out like go ahead. She's like go for it.

52:52Mitch:And then he goes back and Wesley's gone. He's just like uh-oh.

52:56Tom:He's doing like the original John Travolta. Yeah, if you have not seen this movie, I cannot recommend this to you enough.

53:04Hayden:It's a classic. Recommend this to you enough.

53:06Tom:It's a classic. It's one of the greatest movies ever made.

53:10Hayden:What works so well is the fact that it's told from a grandfather point of view to his son. So all the corny music and the love stuff and things like that works because, you can tell it's like an old man trying to conjure up his imagination, and then the interruptions.

53:21Mitch:it's just like ah, yeah, it's kissing, you don't?

53:23Hayden:want to hear about that. You're telling it wrong yeah.

53:28Tom:He doesn't, she doesn't marry Homer, you're saying it wrong. I'm sorry. I beg your pardon a thousand times.

53:34Hayden:Very nice, now shut up. I tried to get my daughter to watch it once.

53:38Mitch:She's still not old enough yet because she doesn't have the attention span.

53:41Hayden:if it's not bright, flashy things going on, she's only five have your kids watched it yeah, I told you we watched it like every once every year. So yeah, it's a great movie. So, yeah, robin Wright, you know she was before she was Jenny she was a childhood crush for sure, and he didn't fall it's a saveable you keep using that word.

54:07Tom:I don't think it means what you think it means.

54:11Hayden:He's like I don't suppose you could hurry things up.

54:15Tom:I gave you my word as a Spaniard.

54:16Hayden:No good, I'm not too Spanish, he's like oh, what is that over there?

54:21Mitch:And he switches the cups and he's like what's so funny?

54:25Tom:I'll tell you in a minute.

54:29Mitch:It just falls over.

54:30Tom:so your coat was poison.

54:31Hayden:They were both poison yeah that's a good movie alright, I think we squandered. I think that's enough. Well, if you enjoyed that, let us know in our comments on entertainthispodcastcom. Let us know if you have any other childhood favorite movies that you'd like for us to talk about, maybe one that we haven't seen before, that only somebody weirdly specific like you would know, and then we'll probably make somebody punished watch it.

54:57Mitch:Don't worry, hayden's going to review one that I saw as a kid that I really liked. I just saved it for his punishment review.

55:03Hayden:Well, I'm going to save one of mine for yours, oh yeah, well, I'm going to save one of mine for yours.

55:07Mitch:Oh yeah, Well, I'm going to save something for one of you, nah Well, no, maybe you already watched it. You're going to review it for the Thursday episode.

55:11Hayden:Oh yeah, and then tune in on Thursday episode where I talk about two awful movies that I had to watch. Because, you can't keep track of your own punishments, yeah.

55:27Tom:Well, I got to pee. No, you must not read from the book. Alright, that's enough of that. I'm Tom, that's Hayden, that's Mitch, goodbye, goodbye.

55:36Mitch:I got a tinker. We'll see you next time.
