0:00Hayden:Hey, hey, hey, alright, alright.

0:03Mitch:Oh, we were recording then okay Did we format.

0:07Tom:Yes, I don't know, I do. It'd be a short episode if we did.

0:23Hayden:Hello. Welcome to Entertain Us, a podcast about movies, TV shows and video games. My name is Hayden. With me I have Mitch Hello and Tom Tom. Today we're going to be talking about the future of Avengers, the Gray man. Whatever Tom's talking about, Totally accurate battle simulator. And the new zombies mode. Mitch Resident.

0:44Mitch:Evil.

0:44Hayden:And.

0:45Mitch:The MCU TV shows in the future and Netflix and all that stuff.

0:48Hayden:And my trivia, which is a battle of friendship. More to come, but before we begin, let's do social media no no, no Okay. Social media Mitch go.

1:01Mitch:Wow, you can go to entertainthispodcastcom, which will take you to entertain this Facebook group and page. We can also go to TikTok and YouTube, which will take you to entertain this. That's your point. Then you can also go to our Twitter, which is why are you saying that Stop?

1:17Hayden:Which will be.

1:18Tom:Spit it out.

1:21Mitch:Yeah, still defeated.

1:24Tom:Entertainthispod podcastcom yeah, it'll take you those things it should take you to all of our legs where you can comment about what you want to see and what you want to hear yep, yeah, paintball gonna just shoot you in the forehead we're gonna talk, uh more next week about so you want to start a podcast, and uh, because there's a couple people have asked us about it and we have some ideas and, uh, maybe even some services to offer.

1:47Hayden:So stay tuned for later in the week episode to come out.

1:50Tom:Yeah, people aren't coming over to my apartment to record their own show while I'm here.

1:53Hayden:Don't worry about that.

1:54Tom:Tom's apartment is available.

1:55Mitch:For the right amount of money.

1:58Hayden:All right, let me get started off with my punishment. I played cricket 2022. Stellar game off with my punishment I played cricket 2022 and let me stellar game. Let me just start by saying that this game had a two-hour tutorial okay, on how to play the game. I played it. I played one match until the game crashed because I don't know if I was making any progress in it or not and, uh, it's not fun. I I couldn't figure out anything, despite all of the in-depth calculus tutorials that was involved. But I wrote a little ditty here , so let's see if you guys understand it. So this is the essentials of cricket.

2:35Tom:Okay.

2:35Hayden:You should know, the bowler bowls the ball against the striker, attempting to hit his stump and knock his wickets.

2:43Mitch:Okay, that's the game . Sounds pretty simple to me.

2:45Hayden:There are many bowls the bowler can attempt, such as leg break, googly or deuce. If the bowler strikes the wicket, but to no effect, it is known as a sticky wicket. The striker beats the ball on the flat side or is out if he hits it. Otherwise they must refrain from popping in or out of the crease lest the bowler hits the wicket in an attempt for an out. You with me so far. No, you're a wizard, harry. If the striker in a non-hitter often leaves popping the crease, he can do a precision strike to afford the other players who edge away from the creases and attempt to run, so long as the bowler doesn't out the non-striker and break the wicket of another runner. If the striker misses the ball while attempting to hit and

3:38Hayden:steps outside the popping crease , the wicket keeper can break his wicket by catching the bowl cleanly and striking the wicket with the ball, resulting in an out. This type of out is called being stumped. All right, so you're still with me.

3:53Mitch:What do you use flying broom at?

3:56Hayden:It's essentially Quidditch with weird rules. Striker can be out due to leg before wicket, or the commonly abbreviated LBW I'm sure you all have heard of that Commonly. Beware of hit wickets and bowlers need to be aware of strikers hitting non-strikers' wickets. If fielding catches the ball, the striker is out. Though if the fielder catches over the boundary line, the runner scores six runs. Batman must not handle balls. Batman running may not bat the ball, but can obstruct the ball.

4:30Mitch:Question. Yes, go ahead, mitch. What's a bowler and what's a wicket, and what's a striker, alright, so the bowler's like the guy who pitches.

4:38Hayden:Yes, okay.

4:39Tom:The wickets are the sticks.

4:40Hayden:Okay. So there's like these sticks that stick out of the ground and they have like these pine cone things on top of them, that thing, if the bowler hits that, I think it's good For the bowler , the batter guy, the striker he wants to hit the ball from doing that. It's weird man. So I played and the game was like if you don't understand how to play cricket, you should play the tutorial. And I was like, okay, so I played that. And then it immediately jumped into jargon like that, and I was like is there a tutorial?

5:17Tom:for the tutorial. I don't know what any of this means.

5:19Hayden:I've never heard of this sport. Please help me. I have a page.

5:25Tom:Is there a saying that says I'm an american and you just end up in mlb 2022.

5:29Hayden:So here's some cricket slang baggy green, beamer, bouncer, chin music castled skittled cow corner, dolly duck, golden duck, jaffa lbw. We know what that is leg spin we do, oh yeah onside, offside, slower ball swing, reverse swing , tail, ender, toe crushers, yorker, yeah. So you basically need like a A PhD. Yeah, you need a dictionary in order to play this game. So a thesaurus and I got. I just kept trying different things until it said, good job, we did it. And then I finally got to a game and I just was the bowler bowling the ball for about an hour and then the game crashed. So I don't know if I was doing good or not, but I was like, okay, that's enough. So if you're part of Tom's long-lost- family tell us how

6:23Hayden:this game is played? I don't know. I do have relatives in England. I don't know. I don't know. I do have relatives in England. I don't know very much.

6:27Tom:That's where great grandpa Reynolds was from. Does he know how to play cricket? I don't know. I can't ask him. He's dead.

6:31Hayden:Oh, okay. Well, if you know anybody that knows how to play cricket and I just bastardized the hell out of that explanation I'm of Nigel Thornberry knows. No, there's.

6:43Tom:Listening Just like smashing they're reviewing.

6:45Mitch:He doesn't know what he's on about the bullet has to throw with the mask, but it's a sticky wicket, isn't? It. Wait, what Did it make you miserable? Yes, Mission accomplished, that's all that matters.

6:57Hayden:Mission accomplished as far as like reviews go like, this is the worst game for me to review, because I hate sports games. That's true. And I hate games that have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

7:05Tom:Well, you liked the hockey game because you spent the whole time trying to figure out how to fight my players.

7:10Hayden:That was like a little side game in the game.

7:12Tom:Hayden quickly figured out the quick rules of hockey of just skate fast at people and crash into them and knock them into the boards.

7:20Hayden:There was none of that. This was you throw the ball. Sometimes the umpires look like beekeepers. So this dude with a weird hat comes out. He's like does a T pose? And you're just like, is that good? And you got to do it again. I have no idea. It was like basically being in purgatory, just playing the same thing over and over again.

7:43Mitch:I'm just glad it made you miserable.

7:44Tom:That's all it's like that family guy bit where Stewie makes Chris watch something and Chris is just sitting there crying. He's like I don't know what this means, I don't know what they want.

7:54Hayden:Yeah, so if you understand cricket, maybe the game's good. I don't understand cricket. I don't know if the game glitched besides that one time it crashed. I don't know if the game glitched besides that one time it crashed. I don't know if the game glitched or something.

8:05Mitch:for me, You're just in a time loop doing the same thing over and over.

8:08Hayden:So maybe, if you like cricket, you would rate this game.

8:11Tom:high Dormammu, I've come to bargain.

8:13Hayden:I played the game no idea how to play the game, no idea what I'm doing. Do you feel like you know more or less about cricket? I think I'm more confused. It, I think I'm more confused. It's like you graduated preschool math and then they threw you in collegiate calculus .

8:28Tom:That's going to be a trivia. It's just going to be me and Mitch asking you sports terms and you have to explain to us what it is.

8:34Hayden:Yeah it's like all the wind. Why haven't we done that?

8:36Mitch:I don't know, if that's a good idea, though, write that down. That's our next special.

8:45Tom:That's nothing to do with movies, tv shows or videos.

8:46Hayden:It's called Ultimate Trivia. You watch it on TV. We just ask Hayden sports questions.

8:48Tom:I'll fail that one, Hayden. What is the line of scrimmage?

8:50Hayden:It's where you can't cross.

8:52Tom:In what? In what?

8:52Hayden:sport, lots of them Anyway.

9:01Tom:If you hit a grand slam, how many runs did you score?

9:04Hayden:Four, oh wow.

9:06Tom:One point.

9:06Hayden:I know more about baseball than I do, but yeah, so I guess that also didn't help my basic understanding of baseball, you know, definitely added to the confusion.

9:15Mitch:Completely out the window with this.

9:17Tom:How do I throw a?

9:17Hayden:curveball, because you know, like snooker and pool are completely different games and snooker is way more complicated than pool. It's like, essentially that's what cricket is to baseball. I really hope there's like a bocce ball game. Probably, it probably exists. The graphics weren't terrible compared to other sport games where they have those dead eyes and they just walk out there Throwing touchdowns. I don't know what was going on. I have no idea what was happening.

9:46Tom:Some of the Madden glitch has been funny. Tom Brady's eyes are like cross-eyed and whatever. There's that one safety from Seattle. He has one hand. He made an interception with the arm. He doesn't have a hand on the ball, just freezes in mid-air over where it should be and the guys play like wait what? Wow?

10:08Hayden:Yeah well, so there you go. That's my cricket review.

10:11Tom:Stay tuned for bocce ball trivia.

10:14Hayden:So if you like cricket, try it. I mean, hopefully it's a better thing for you. I don't know of anybody that likes that game. Apparently, it's a huge deal in Europe.

10:23Tom:Apparently in India it's like obnoxiously massive. Because it's big in England but not to the same degree like that football is for them.

10:31Hayden:And they had like a stadium where you're playing and it had all the seats were filled and I'm like that must be every cricket fan on the planet . It's in one place at one time. One missile we could be, done with this nonsense.

10:47Tom:And just like some kid picks up a cricket ball bat you smack him. He's like no, we're playing baseball now like real people.

10:52Hayden:So I give it a three out of ten. Just because you know I didn't learn anything. I still know what I'm doing. The sound effects were really satisfying. When you hit the ball, it has a really satisfying sound effect.

11:03Tom:I like that. I think cricket bats are better at just killing zombies.

11:07Hayden:Yeah, of course.

11:08Tom:Like in Shaun of the.

11:08Hayden:Dead. Well, movies, that's me.

11:11Tom:I'm going to keep going on the Hayden party continues.

11:17Hayden:So I watched a movie called. I watched two movies but I didn't really want to review Bob's Burgers because it's just a long TV episode with more animation, because it's just a long TV episode with more animation. But I watched the Gray man, which is the new Russo Brothers movie on Netflix.

11:30Tom:Is that that Ryan Gosling film. It is I saw some of it too. It was okay.

11:41Hayden:It was a $200 million Netflix movie and it was about two hours long. Um, it was like one of the criticisms was that it has a very cliche plot, um, and it was edited at like breakneck speed, and that is very true, because you're just like whoa, is this like michael bay, right? I had to google it and I was like no, it's the russo brothers . It is insanely fast.

12:06Mitch:It was so much action I got bored trying to keep up, so I quit watching it was pretty intense.

12:12Hayden:I do like some of the story aspects where they have pretty ladies in it and it's not like they're just a sex service . The main character, he's not interested in that stuff, he's just basically interested in surviving what's going on. So they broke away from some like James Bond-esque type norms and the women weren't just like annoying characters on the side , they actually had purposes. So I laud that. That being said, it was kind of dumb as far as like why they're doing what they're doing. Basically, the government has these secret ghost operators that operate in the gray and uh ryan uh ryan gosling is his name , is six and he they keep saying he has nothing in his file and they literally pull out a file at one point, they open it up

12:59Hayden:and there's nothing in it we get it.

13:00Tom:He's nobody knows. It's just like a sheet of like printer paper and at the top it just said like typed out six, like that's it. Yeah, we get it. He's nobody knows me. It should have been just like a sheet of printer paper and at the top it just said typed out six, like that's it.

13:07Hayden:Yeah, we get it. There's nothing. And then he has to get some MacGuffin from another guy. It's basically Goldeneye you know, where one of the agents goes bad. But then you find out he goes bad because the agency was bad, so it was just one of those old agent plots. And he's on the run now because he's got this McGuff. And then he finds out why the agency's bad and they send more agents after him. And then they get into a shootout in like Prague and there's like buses exploding and civilians dying all over the place and they're like, oh, this is the worst disaster in covert ops history. And then they keep going and you're like, well, maybe stop, I don't know.

13:53Tom:It's like at this point it's already the worst. Let's just pack it on.

13:56Hayden:Keep it going. It's got Ryan Gosling as Sierra Six, a CIA black ops agent assassin who is forced to go on the run after uncovering incriminating secrets about the agency. Chris Evans as Lloyd Hanson, a psychopathic former CIA agent who was contracted by the agency to capture Six. He was not a very good bad guy. He has that golden boy charm that he just can't shake and when he's trying to be menacing and torture and stuff like that.

14:24Tom:You're like.

14:25Hayden:God, I'm not mad at him, you're too pretty boy. You're too noble to have that, because he'd be torturing people and commenting on torturing. I could tell he was acting bad, not being bad. Jessica Henwick, she was in the Matrix 4. She was in the Matrix 4.

14:46Mitch:I'm trying to remember what her movie was.

14:47Hayden:She was in Game of Thrones.

14:48Mitch:She was the girl in Daredevil, or not? Daredevil, iron Fist.

14:51Hayden:Iron Fist. Yeah, yeah, she was in it as like a sort of CIA agent, you know Liaison Well, kind of like a boss. She would basically follow Chris Evans around and tell him what to do and he wouldn't do it and then, um, you got billy bob thornton, who's the old man you know. They drug out billy bob for this . They got him out, they actually dh'd him. And, uh, uh, ryan gosling at one point for a flashback scene, which was really weird because I was like something's off about billy bob thornton because, like, they dhaged him enough where you, you know, you haven't seen Billy Bob Thornton in anything for a decade. And then they jumped forward to the future and like oh geez he's old.

15:34Tom:It's like you've chosen poorly, yeah.

15:37Hayden:Yeah, Um, but they actually released it in limited theaters. It made a total of like $375,000. But they did say that it's the number one viewed thing on Netflix right now 88.5 million hours viewed in the first three days, which would equal to about 43.5 million viewers.

15:58Mitch:Most watched film.

15:59Hayden:Yeah, most watched film in 84 countries. I do like that Netflix is releasing their data like that so people can understand kind of how they make their money.

16:09Tom:Yeah, now it's not going to be box office, it's going to be hours, right?

16:13Hayden:So on average it's got around a 5 out of 10. So I would give it a 6 out of 10. I think it was entertaining. It took me about two days to watch because I fell asleep the first day. I was really tired and then I picked it back up the next day and I was able to get through it . But it is a lot of just mindless, ridiculous action for no reason. And you know it didn't have that Russo brother charm where everything kind of meant something.

16:42Tom:Nothing means anything.

16:44Hayden:And it wasn't, and it ended in kind of a weird way where maybe they left it open for a sequel. I don't know, the Gray Men. I don't know. So yeah, six out of ten. Not the best movie ever, but it was something All right. Moving on, Speaking of the Russo brothers and their, I just deleted that, dang it.

17:05Mitch:Speaking of Russo Brothers, and they're. I just deleted that Speaking of Russo Brothers. I had something, Ah crap.

17:11Hayden:They're talking about the next Marvel movies and the Russo Brothers are not directing , so they're going to have the guy that did Shang-Chi he's going to direct. That movie was horrible, in my opinion.

17:23Mitch:A lot of people are thinking that Shang-Chi he's going to direct. That movie was horrible, in my opinion.

17:25Hayden:A lot of people are thinking that Shang-Chi is going to be more of the center of the Avengers verse. The next Avengers movie is called Kang Dynasty. That will be at the early part of 2025, and then the end part of 2025 is Secret Wars, and they're not sure if the same director is going to do both those movies. So what is Kang exactly? Again, mitch.

17:50Mitch:He's a multiversal time traveler.

17:54Tom:Presumably a bad guy.

17:56Hayden:Is he ever like a? You know, destin Daniel Cretton ? That's the director.

18:03Mitch:Well, the guy in Loki , the guy that was at that table at the end, that's King, but that's one version of King. There's like multiple versions of him and one is King the Conqueror, which he basically abducts all the best people like , makes his own anti-Avengers team sometimes or he'll kidnap people out of time, out of multiverses and just screw with stuff.

18:23Hayden:He He'll kidnap people out of time, out of multiverses, and just screw with stuff.

18:26Mitch:He is an Avengers-level threat. I mean he's probably I would say he's probably more dangerous than Thanos just because he can go through the multiverse as opposed to just being in the one universe.

18:34Hayden:Okay. Well, this article from IGN speculates on who the new Avengers are going to be. Wong will be one Shang-Chi, doctor Strange, obviously, captain America, which is Sam. Wilson and then War Machine Ironheart, which is Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams yeah, Is that from the comics?

19:03Mitch:Yeah.

19:04Hayden:Okay, spider-man and She-Hulk and the Marvels and Kate Bishop, so what? You're saying and Thor is they have like two or and the Ant-Man family they have two or three characters that actually could stand a chance to fight with. And Black Panther Question mark , because everybody's confused about what's happening with the Black Panther movie.

19:28Mitch:The characters they have currently shouldn't pose much of a threat.

19:34Hayden:I listened to a podcast where Empire did a big thing for Comic-Con, which just happened. That's where all this information was announced. They predict that it's going to be delayed because there's going to be a lot of I don't know. I wouldn't say failures, but like movies that won't pan out as what, because they're they're trying to ramp back up to what is it? phase six now yeah they're trying to ramp up, uh, to the old days of phase three and, uh, you know they got to come a long way from these like lower budget tv shows and, that being said, these uh vfx art houses that they have that are doing five times the workload that they ever did. They're they're just there's no way they can produce these

20:18Hayden:movies, especially an avengers level movie, in three years. So I don't know, we'll see. I do think that they'll probably put one out in 2025, and then the other one will probably be a year or two later. But that's just me.

20:34Mitch:I mean, I think with Endgame the whole Avengers thing should have ended and they should have rebooted the whole thing and just started fresh. They could have started with X-Men.

20:45Tom:And then Fantastic Four.

20:46Mitch:Yeah, and then Fantastic Four, and then built in, added Captain America and all that back into it.

20:50Hayden:They're going to try and use these as vehicles to get those IPs in. I'm pretty sure, because if you find out that X-Men are in the Secret Wars or Kang Dynasty or something like that, you'll go see it.

21:02Mitch:Well, there is one. There's a movie that's going to be made called the Mutants. That's been announced, but they don't really have any information on it.

21:10Tom:Well, apparently, according to their contracts the guys who play the X-Men they're still under contract to be those characters for like another what two years yeah.

21:18Hayden:Like James.

21:19Tom:McAvoy, Michael Fassbender.

21:20Hayden:Like James McAvoy.

21:21Tom:Michael Fassbender, the new.

21:23Mitch:X-Men, I think Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen . Well, no, they're saying that they can't make a new X-Men unless they use those actors right now.

21:27Hayden:Huh, until their contract runs out, for two years . Well, I mean, this movie would be two years from now, yeah, so who knows? It seems muddied and out of control and I don't know how much Kevin Feige is really invested into it anymore, because he had his magnum opus and you can't really outdo in-game.

21:51Mitch:I mean Secret Wars would be really cool.

21:53Hayden:What's that?

21:53Mitch:about Basically different characters from the multiverse get pulled into this essential battle world where they have to. I can't remember if it's only like one can survive or only like one universe can survive and they have to fight their way out, Isn't?

22:09Tom:that like a plot of Dragon Ball Z? Yeah, similar.

22:13Mitch:But it's never secret . Wars came out in the I think 80s.

22:16Hayden:Oh yeah, there's an article about how Jon Favreau tried he like begged the Russo brothers to not kill off Iron man. Yeah, and they listened to him, they tried to talk him off of his ledge and they did it anyways. So I guess he's probably got a falling out Because Iron man was kind of his baby.

22:35Mitch:Yeah.

22:35Hayden:You know, which launched the MCU. He's the one who pushed for Robert Downey Jr.

22:40Tom:Mm-hmm.

22:40Hayden:So I don't know what the future of that looks like. I mean, the Russo brothers seem to have no interest in the MCU any further, so maybe Just the characters they're going with.

22:48Mitch:Now A lot of them are . They're not bad characters. They're just not.

22:54Tom:Interesting on that level.

22:55Mitch:Well, comic wise, they're not powerful enough to keep up with the bad guys that they're going to be fighting Right and movie wise, they're going to be fighting right and movie wise.

23:09Hayden:They're not capable of holding your attention for an entire movie themselves. Okay, there's not enough tool. Yeah, I don't know, I uh, not enough popularity. I, I, I forget that the uh, uh, miss marvel show is out. I haven't even finished it, I've watched most of it, um, but I'm like, oh yeah, that's out, I forgot about it and there's nothing that's really keeping me going about. The MCU She-Hulk doesn't seem interesting. I'm sorry. You know I might watch it. Maybe I'll hear that it's funny or whatever, and I'll get around to it. Why does the Hulk not look hulky anymore?

23:35Mitch:Because they had to make him humanized, I guess to relate, I don't know?

23:39Hayden:Well, he's just like a yoked nerdy guy.

23:42Mitch:Yeah, he's great. Look for Rick Nobeck. Yeah, right, yeah, he's just Professor Hulk now Pretty much.

23:47Hayden:So I don't know what the future of MCU is, but honestly, I'm kind of struggling to care Me too. All right, moving on.

23:57Mitch:TV. Oh yeah, that's me Well. Well, I watched Resident Evil on Netflix. I did. I watched all eight episodes.

24:06Hayden:I heard terrible things about the show.

24:09Mitch:Yes and no. It takes place three decades after the T-virus was released, so there's like a quote-unquote apocalypse, there's like holdout civilizations. I guess, from the way it's presented, they leave a lot of stuff to mystery at the moment as they, as they're going through the episode, they reveal more episodes where they reveal more and more, but it basically it skips back and forth from when this girl is a child, with her sister and her dad, which is played by Lance Reddick, which is the voices of all line, the bell hop. It or not bell hop, but the desk carrier John John, john Wick, yeah. Yeah.

24:46Tom:But um it's pretty neat he.

24:49Mitch:he plays Albert Wesker, which he's like studying the virus and stuff and finding practical uses to help make it help humanity as far as like healing sicknesses and cancers and stuff. But they find out that if you use too much of it then it can still cause you to turn into a zombie, essentially does it bother you?

25:05Hayden:there's a lot of people are pissed that they cast a black guy for that role to begin with it was kind of strange, but in the end I mean it's it's a goofy character that nobody, it's not like you know, jesus or something. Yeah, iconic.

25:18Mitch:So um, so and that, and then, as you watch, you'll find out, find out. There's more to it than that. I'll go ahead and say he's a clone of the original Albert Wesker. So there's that plot that goes along, but it bounces back and forth from when his two daughters were kids to when they're grown-ups, which everything in the original part that involves the daughters, which are like the main stars of the show. Besides, albert Wesker is just kind of cringe because it's them going to high school and dealing with bullies and then zombies. They're in a closed community that an umbrella has made to where that's where their family lives.

26:00Hayden:Stupid Netflix plots. How do we cater to kids with this highly violent? No, it doesn't cater to kids.

26:06Mitch:But it's just like why are we focusing on these kids in high school when you have this whole zombie outbreak on the outside of the walls and stuff?

26:14Hayden:I don't know, it does seem dumb.

26:15Mitch:And then it flashes forward to like 30 years, or maybe not 30, maybe 15 or so, I can't remember what it was. But you see, one of the daughters is basically out in the middle of London trying to basically study the zombies and stuff. She's come up with a way that basically makes her immune. If she sprays the stuff on her, they don't sense her or smell her or whatever. So, she's studying the zombies, trying to figure out how they can maneuver around them, how they can ward them away from locations, and stuff like that.

26:45Hayden:So the video games, which is the source material, um had jill, valentine and chris redfield and some other characters. Are they in it?

26:56Mitch:no, okay, now, canon wise, they do say that this whole thing is.

27:02Hayden:Is Raccoon City a thing?

27:04Mitch:Well, it was destroyed. I think they said 30 years before this show takes place. But it's destroyed under circumstances where they say oh no, it was a gas leak.

27:18Hayden:It was a nuke?

27:19Mitch:Well, not according to the Umbrella Corporation. No sure, okay Did not happen. Yeah, so they play it. They played off where umbrella knows exactly what happened, but they, they've hidden the truth from everyone else. Um, but in the future, their albert wesker is assumed dead. So it's his daughter going around trying to research, finding, trying to find a way to keep, like humanity, safe. Well, at the same time, she's being hunted down by umbrella from things she does as a kid. That's revealed as they're going along.

27:47Hayden:That part of the story so is there like super humans and stuff like that from the t-virus and whatnot?

27:52Mitch:uh, albert wesker is the only super human you really see that there's one other girl that kind of like maybe like super soldier as far as like captain america, america level strength and stuff. But then you see some things that you don't see in any of the movies. You see the giant crocodile it makes an appearance in this. There's some giant spiders, there's this worm thing that comes after them at one point. But the future part is actually really cool. It's fun to watch, it's just having to watch the kid part is just boring.

28:24Hayden:How am I ever going to make it to math class on time ?

28:26Mitch:But supposedly this does have connections to all the games. Like all of them, the writer says is canon. That happened in the past.

28:32Hayden:Okay, so they engineered new characters for this.

28:37Mitch:Just the two daughters are. Albert Wesker is still part of it, Right. And then they give allusions to Ada Wong. They mention the village from the I think it was the newest game.

28:49Hayden:The newest one. Yeah, but see, that wasn't a T-virus, that was some sort of prehistoric parasite.

28:57Mitch:Well, I mean, they mention all this stuff. They don't go into in-depth about it because they said they want to reveal all that stuff a little bit as it goes along if they pick up another season, I don't think they're gonna they. They have plans through season five, supposedly I, I, because what's did you? Look at the reviews you got a five out of ten yeah, I don't know if they're gonna get another season. I would give it a five out of ten because I didn't even see it on the top 10 of netflix.

29:19Hayden:For a while it Was it on top 10? .

29:21Mitch:Yeah, it was. Yeah, it was probably one of the top five when it first came out.

29:25Hayden:Well, okay, maybe it was like Resident Evil show. This sucks.

29:29Mitch:It is interesting if they could just move away from showing the high school kids and stuff. The futuristic stuff is pretty fun because you got Umbrella chasing down this essentially their own big cargo ship out to sea and they were actually dragging the zombified croc with them and they had him sedated with this tech that they'd put in his brain which they release and send him after the umbrella so that he could get away. Okay, In parts Well because there's pheromones and stuff that they're learning to mess with and things like that.

29:59Hayden:Let's be honest, the Resident Evil plot line is pretty stupid.

30:03Tom:Pretty, stupid, pretty thin.

30:03Hayden:Yeah, it's kind of all over the place from the source material. Some of the games are just awful Like 28 Days Later, had better source material. So they had potential to make it better.

30:15Mitch:I feel like all the futuristic stuff is a pretty interesting story because it's just building off of what's already happened, where them, as kids, they have to try and finagle their way to make it. You know, part of the canon and also making its own thing.

30:29Tom:So I don't know, man I don't know, so this is another case where video games don't translate well into a tv like halo, probably you know, halo got picked up for a second season.

30:41Hayden:Why but?

30:41Mitch:you know, like I said , I give it a five out of ten. If they can manage to focus more on the futuristic side, then that's, I think, where they could make a bigger impression.

30:50Hayden:Netflix is more cutthroat about what they continue on Like. Marco Polo was actually a good show. It did well. It was just too much money for their viewing.

31:04Mitch:So instead of cutting the budget, they just cut the show entirely, Especially when it got interesting.

31:08Hayden:They're introducing the Knights Templar and then they're like never mind, it could be the same for a lot. They're talking about scaling back a lot of Netflix productions.

31:16Tom:Hopefully not the Witcher.

31:19Hayden:I don't know, hopefully not.

31:21Mitch:I'll move on to my news. The DC comic Sandman will be releasing its Netflix show on August 5th. I listened to the book Neil Gaiman. Well, this they have the ancestor of Gaiman. Wow, gaiman, gaiman, they have the ancestor of John Constantine , Johanna Constantine.

31:40Hayden:Yep.

31:40Mitch:There's a bit where he meets her and then Mark Hamill will be voicing Mervyn Pumpkinhead, so some kind of character.

31:46Hayden:I don't know anything about that.

31:47Mitch:He'll be voicing some character in it, but I don't know anything about Sandman really James McAfee voiced in the books the Sandman, morpheus or Morbius.

32:01Hayden:Morpheus is another character that they mentioned that somebody is.

32:03Mitch:He's the Sandman. Well, they mentioned him separately, so I don't know.

32:06Hayden:So like there's gods that existed before everything else and he's the god of time, okay, there's like the god of death, which was voiced by Cat Dennings for some reason.

32:20Tom:That's an interesting play.

32:22Hayden:But James McAfee did a really awesome job for that character. I'm surprised they just didn't cast him.

32:28Mitch:In my next bit of news. There's an Amazon series that'll be coming out later this month on August Well, it says late August Of a movie that came out in the 90s that I never would have thought would have had a TV series, but a league of their own, which is the tom hanks movie.

32:45Tom:There's no crying in baseball women's baseball I don't know.

32:48Mitch:I don't know why it's got a tv series. It's netflix, no amazon amazon maybe.

32:53Hayden:I mean I can see that being a series, because it was a lot that they did, that they just kind of montage through in the movie, um, but the movie's really good.

33:05Tom:There's no reason to do it.

33:05Mitch:Yeah, I don't see why you would. I don't know. And then, like you were saying earlier, she-hulk it comes out on August 17th with Disney+. They've already revealed that there's a Daredevil and a Hulk cameo where both of them will be in it at some point. And somebody with eagle-eye vision saw that there's a Ghost Rider poster somewhere in the background like one of the scenes they were doing. It just says Johnny Blaze.

33:27Hayden:Oh my goodness, Fans are the worst. Pause at frame 75.7. There he is.

33:34Mitch:They showed Daredevil with his red and yellow costume a little bit. It's interesting to see how that will come into play because they're both lawyers.

33:42Hayden:It's interesting to see how that will come into play , because they're both lawyers. Did you see the article where some VFX studio house was telling fans that maybe the VFX for She-Hulk aren't bad, maybe it's your TVs that aren't good enough? And I was like, okay, blame the audience. Yeah, that's a great idea. See how that works out for you.

33:58Mitch:Yeah, I mean, the Hulk CGI looks horrible compared to the 2008 Hulk. That one looked cool yeah. And so you know, saying that their CGI is good is like you know. It's because your TV's garbage, the Hulk, looks bad. Now you're going to make She-Hulk look bad yeah.

34:14Hayden:Well, whatever.

34:16Mitch:And then, lastly, they're reviving Daredevil on Disney Plus, of an 18-episode season.

34:22Hayden:Is he going to pick up where the last one left off?

34:24Mitch:Yeah, it'll be the same actors.

34:28Hayden:It'll be.

34:28Mitch:Daredevil born again is what it's called Kingpin's rumored to appear in it, and so is the Punisher.

34:33Hayden:Jon Bernthal. Yeah, I don't know if he'll have a series, but he's rumored to appear in the show he's going to show up and scream a little bit and run away. What's Charlie Cox, charlie Cox .

34:45Mitch:Yeah, he'll be playing Daredevil. They said it's going to be 18 episodes.

34:49Hayden:He's getting pretty old. He's in his late 40s.

34:52Tom:He was looking a little old in that Spider-Man movie.

34:55Mitch:Yeah, but when you're wearing a suit that covers everything but your mouth you can get away with it, I guess.

35:00Tom:so Like when they throw the brick through the window, he just catches it and just sets it down. It's like how'd you do that?

35:05Hayden:I'm a really good lawyer. Explain away with a jokey line Moving on Tom.

35:10Tom:Tom, I watched, I didn't watch. I played With Hayden. Totally accurate battle simulator. Or tabs? Yes For you, casual, casual players. Apparently this is an old game. This game's like seven years old. I didn't know that, but I guess it just came to the Xbox.

35:26Mitch:On Game Pass I think On Game Pass.

35:27Tom:Actually, no, it didn't. It came out October 2021. I was wrong. So anyway, it's a spoof game of , like you know, your normal battle simulator stuff like Empire, total War, civilization and whatnot.

35:44Hayden:Civilization when you basically it's red versus blue and the derpiest of derp, fight it out.

35:46Tom:They're ragdolls that are drunk just making weird noise Like derp, derp, derp Anything from tribesmen to pirates to gods, good versus evil, and apparently there's like I was researching there's like a whole bunch of secret units you can unlock that we haven't gotten to yet. Um, the biggest thing we found out by Hayden's son is that you can first person, my five-year-old son, who was immediately better at this game than any of us. And we were cause me and him started playing. You know, all right, we'll just do custom us. I was like me against you little battlefield, up to what? 30 characters, and we maxed out the money and everything. And it was just nonsense Because at first we tried. Well, the first game, when we figured it out, I started it and

36:32Tom:I tried to be strategic with infantry and archers and support . Hayden just had a row of elephants waiting and it was like, because you couldn't see, it just starts like, and I was like oh my god, so I lost that first one.

36:51Mitch:Go big.

36:53Tom:That's Hayden's strategy. That, and then the arrow launching machine, the huacha.

36:58Hayden:The ninja box arrow barrage.

37:00Tom:That just mows down everybody.

37:04Hayden:Yeah, it was fun.

37:05Tom:It. It is fun.

37:06Hayden:It's stupid, it's fun we thought it was just like you pick your armies and you put them out there and then you hit play and just see what happens. My son figures out that you can be one of the dudes in the battlefield and then like, control them and run around and do attacks. That changed the game entirely.

37:21Tom:We played a whole day where we didn't even know you could do this and then we found out and we were playing before we did this and I was playing as the pirate yeah or the king yeah for uh like the medieval yeah, like sorry, and I had like yeah, I was basically like 20 feet tall. I have a giant sword, everybody else like up to my chest, and I got two healers like blasting me with health from behind. I'm like killing five people in one swing, until you took a cannonball to the face, he got sniped, he was like knocked off the boat. Yeah, graphics don't expect much. It's funny though.

37:55Hayden:It is fun, the giant googly eyes.

37:57Tom:Yeah, he's just like the eyes are going everywhere. Then he died.

38:00Hayden:They turned to X's, yeah it's funny, the terrain's weird, you know, yeah, I think the most fun I had was the wheelbarrow guys. They just run through people.

38:12Tom:Because you have one guy pushing a wheelbarrow. You have two guys in the wheelbarrow. One guy's a stick, the other one's just throwing rocks and they're just like just running at people full speed.

38:22Hayden:The poor man's battering ram.

38:24Tom:Then the dragon. It's not a dragon, it's just like a dragon, like piñata that shoots fire, being held up on sticks by drunk dudes walking going da-da-da-da-da-da yeah it's a goofy game.

38:36Hayden:It is fun, though, and it's free. It's goofy.

38:38Tom:It's free, it it's goofy, it's free. It was like no gigs, no it's only 1v1.

38:44Hayden:If they made it so you can have more players play that would be perfect, so there's probably going to be a sequel or something.

38:49Tom:I think there's downloadable stuff that we just haven't figured out as well. We did a little bit of the campaign.

38:54Hayden:Yeah, Quote unquote.

38:56Tom:You did the pirate campaign I did the pirates campaign and that was just anarchy. I think the best was they had the I think you were taking, you're going to the bathroom, but we had. I was at the pirate ship and it was like you had to like scale the big thing and I just put two elephants on one of them and it starts. It's just like they just barrel up the thing and like the pirates are standing there. It's like getting knocked off.

39:18Hayden:Yeah, it's fucking Getting knocked off. Yeah, it was a fun game.

39:22Tom:I was thoroughly enjoying it. I give it an 8 out of 10. Yeah, not for graphics, but just for sheer hilarity.

39:27Hayden:Yeah, it is funny, it's stupid, the stupid sound effects they all make.

39:32Tom:Especially when you said to like blind, where you know, because when you play against another person, it's split screen. You have your set screen, you're red, they're're blue or vice versa, and if you turn that off, you can't see what they're putting out. So it just starts with like, with hey, you're just like. All right, I got you know my info check. That's america. And then jesus christ. As I watch, elephants come barreling down at me yeah, yeah, I play again.

39:57Hayden:My son really liked it, so I'll probably keep it around play with him for a little bit. So, all right, what news do you get?

40:02Tom:all right, well, dr, disrespect who you hate yep has released some footage for his upcoming uh game, a vertical extraction shooter. Okay, because before he was full-time streaming, he was a game developer he was a game developer. So he's got his own company called midnight society. Uh, the new game is gonna be called dead drop. Okay, which apparently he did game development for advanced warfare as well for call of duty back in the day. But he apparently this is. He's like this is gonna be like full transparency, like whatever the reviews are, like the people's like input is it's like we will do that for the game. Okay, not like you know, call of duty or these other games. It's like, oh, you should have this and they just go.

40:44Tom:No, will it make us money? Will it make us money? It's like you need to nerf this gun. It's ruining the balance.

40:49Hayden:No. But, people are paying $20 to buy this gun. Yeah.

40:53Tom:Yeah, so he's actually. Because apparently he got so fed up playing Call of Duty, he's making his own.

41:00Hayden:With black jacket hookers.

41:01Tom:With black jacket hookers.

41:03Hayden:That's pretty much what's happening.

41:06Tom:Except Lamborghinis and mustaches. But I'd be surprised to see how it turns out. I think it's still going to be a little while before it's out.

41:16Hayden:A lot of these indie companies that do shooters. They have really blocky like PUBG has come a long way and it's still pub g's come a very long way it still pales in comparison to the, the smoothness of like yeah, but the hit detection is still better. That's true, because they don't. They don't shy away from the core of the game, like call of duty, they just are constantly screwing with crap in the game. That makes it just a mess and you have no idea what's going on . So, if they can, I don't mind there being a wonky game that comes out, as long as they like. See, okay, we need to improve the controls, like, for instance , pubg. You know. And yeah, they might have tweaked it, but it's just, it's

41:59Hayden:still clunky. How many years has PUBG been out? At least four or five it still feels like you're controlling a cardboard box running around. Yeah, so they need to improve that somehow. Just inject some better controls somehow.

42:11Mitch:Still enjoy it better than Call of Duty at the time, though.

42:13Hayden:Yeah, that's fair.

42:15Tom:So, call of Duty, they did release the Zombies mode.

42:17Hayden:Okay, Zombies of Rebirth. I told Tom no Call of Duty news .

42:22Tom:Well, people still like the game, other than you. You're not the only opinion ever.

42:27Hayden:It's your only news for video games at all times. No it's not When's the last time you reviewed a video game.

42:32Tom:I don't know. It's been a while I kept getting like TV and movie Uh-huh .

42:35Hayden:I'm pretty sure your news was Call of Duty, though that one. Yeah, it was, it was the SMG gun you were talking about. I was like that's not news. It is news.

42:42Tom:So Call of Duty's new update. They fixed a lot of stuff. There's a lot of weapons. Apparently. I was like, wait, I got these now. They were like all of it. I was like oh, neat. So I went and started playing the zombies. Uh, it's interesting, there's new all the vaults that were on rebirth. You can now just go inside, you don't need key cards or pass codes or any of that stuff. And there's a bunch of AI zombies who ain't taken no crap from, as I learned, because my team punked out and ran and I was like where are you going? And then also I'm getting pegged with flesh and then zombies are just beating me to death and I was like okay, so zombies throw things now, zombies do the throw, they throw

43:24Tom:the things. These are the only AA zombies I've seen. When you die, you come back as a zombie. You got to get four vials now. Um, there's random loadout crates now that drop that people who are alive can open, and there's a whole bunch of stuff Perks, money, ammo, shields and then a bunch of the syringes. So let's say I'm dead, mitch runs and opens it. I can fall onto it, onto my death. Pop back up, get all the vials and I can come back. Okay so it moves a little bit quicker than it used to where it was pretty much like in the last version, where you were a zombie. That was pretty. If you didn't get the vials, you were pretty much done or hoped that one of us lived long enough to buy you back.

43:57Tom:So we can watch you die and blame you.

43:59Mitch:That's what we need. We just need to add more chaos.

44:01Hayden:Yeah and a tinier map , right?

44:03Tom:Yeah, well, it's still only the 40 players. It's not as chaotic, but as it gets towards the last circles it becomes a mess and you have AI zombies on top of it too. Yeah, and it's misty, so you can't see. No, there's no AI zombies. Everybody at that point is a zombie zombie.

44:18Hayden:Oh, okay.

44:19Tom:And even if you're a zombie and you die because they didn't really buff the health for zombies when they did the buff for, like the Warzone players, it's not bad, but you can get rinsed out pretty quickly. So you kind of you got to be paying attention. But even if you die, there's still like a countdown bar on the side where, if enough zombies die or like at certain points it just goes hey, everybody's spectating, you're back as a zombie. So I was playing and, like you know, 13 more people just showed up as zombies. They're just falling out of the sky planting around you and you're running out of ammo trying to reload. But they did buff a couple of the old guns. The AMX and the Kilo got buffed , which is nice.

44:53Tom:They nerfed the crap out of the NZ again, even though people are still using it, and I hate it. They buffed all the shotguns damage up to 30 more percent, all the pellets.

45:04Hayden:I still have it installed. Maybe it will play one day.

45:06Tom:They upped the damage for the Origin, which I know you like, the 725. The M, whatever, the VLK one, the side pump thing that apparently one shots now. Oh, wow, uh, the Gallo, the spaz.

45:20Hayden:Oh, cool yeah.

45:22Tom:The desert Eagle got buffed 90%.

45:26Hayden:So you can like snipe with it now.

45:27Tom:No, you basically get two shot people a Kimbo. If they're close enough, this is just go and down them and it's like one hits them and breaks them, the other one kills him. That's awesome, which? I have that gun maxed out, so we'll see how that pans out. Also new Tomb Raider game. Okay, there you go, all right. I read the article. They didn't tell me anything. It's like that was a new Tomb Raider game. It might be Laura Croft leading a team of Tomb Raiders.

45:59Hayden:And All right, that was it. I guess that's all you wanted me to know about this. All right, yeah, that's basically how articles are. Whenever you get a game announcement, they just see the IP license is bought and then they'll put a 30-page article about the games in the past and you're like I didn't learn anything.

46:10Tom:What about the new All?

46:11Hayden:right. Moving on to trivia. Trivia, a battle of friends. Who is the better friend, mitch or tom?

46:19Tom:why are we even asking this question?

46:20Hayden:so what we're going to do is I'm going to ask mitch, lord of the ring questions. Tom, I'm going to ask you teenage mutant turtle questions. Okay, and the in, tom being the lord of the ring expert and mitch being a teenage mutant turtle expert, you're going to rip your hair out knowing that this guy doesn't know the answer . But if you're a better friend, you should, because we've been doing this for a minute. We've learned a lot about Lord of the Rings from you, tom. I've learned a lot about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Mitch. You should too. So hopefully you're not a crappy friend. If you are, mitch is going to win. But, that being said, if you fail to answer the question, the subject matter expert has a chance.

46:59Hayden:So you get two points if you're the original guy getting asked the question. One point if you defer to the subject matter. Expert and that guy gets the question, I need a pen and paper .

47:10Mitch:Give me stuff, yep.

47:12Tom:Why are you giving them a good pen?

47:13Mitch:Because, it's the only one on the table, because he's a better friend. We don't even need those.

47:18Hayden:Yeah, we don't need buzzers until the very end, and I'll explain why. When we get to the end, I'm the one who yells piss taker. Question number one for Mitch, Lord of the Rings question.

47:32Mitch:Who, of all the races , was the first?

47:36Tom:to wake up.

47:37Hayden:Is this Lord of the Rings or is this like Middle Earth, all that?

47:39Mitch:stuff, the Maiar.

47:41Hayden:No oh.

47:42Mitch:The elves.

47:43Hayden:No, who woke up first ? Okay, tom the dwarves? Yes, tom.

47:52Mitch:Oh.

47:53Hayden:So Tom now has one point, mitch has.

47:56Tom:That's from the Silmarillion. By the way, they don't talk about that in Lord of the Rings.

48:00Hayden:Well, Lord of the Rings is the all-encompassing title for it. Now.

48:03Mitch:Oh, that's right.

48:04Hayden:It's easier for me to abbreviate.

48:06Mitch:Okay, well now I know .

48:08Hayden:But you know more about the first and second age than you let on Tom. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. What is Master Splinter's human name? Jeffrey Nope Hamato Yoshi? Yes, mitch, for one point.

48:25Tom:This is basically. We're going to be getting our own questions wrong.

48:28Hayden:Mitch, how many rings did the elves get? Three? Yes, Mitch, for two points.

48:36Mitch:Mitch is winning three to one right now, Tom who made or who brought into conception the mutagen ooze, like who made the ooze? Yeah, shredder, no the crane.

48:53Hayden:Yes, mitch, for one point, this is going exactly how I thought it would.

49:05Mitch:Mitch, what house was Glorfindel, the lord of?

49:09Hayden:Who's Glorfindel? You want to take a shot in the dark or do you want to defer to Tom, Whose house I?

49:13Mitch:have no idea. Go ahead, Tom.

49:14Tom:House of the Golden Flower.

49:15Mitch:Yes, Tom Never even heard of that.

49:18Hayden:Even when I studied no idea. Go ahead, Tom. House of the Golden Flowers. Yes, Tom, Never even heard of that, even when I studied this stuff. Tom who?

49:26Mitch:is considered Shredder's second in command. This could be a trick question.

49:32Tom:Well, this is what the TMNT wiki told me. So Foot Clan Guy number two.

49:37Mitch:Nope, mitch. Well, if we're going off the movies, it's Tatsu.

49:41Hayden:No.

49:41Mitch:If we're going off the cartoon stuff, it's Krang.

49:44Hayden:No, I have Karai C-A-R-I-A-I.

49:49Mitch:Well, yeah, that too.

49:51Hayden:So no points issued for that one.

49:53Mitch:Karai is his daughter . Yeah, that one could be too. It just depends on which. If you're going off cartoon comics, because they're all different, because none of them stay the same.

50:00Hayden:I'm going off of the Wikipedia Mitch. What is the greatest dragon in all of Middle Earth? The greatest, the most powerful , largest dragon?

50:14Mitch:And Caligula the Black. Yes, mitch, good job I was like I'm trying to like, is he the greatest? I mean, he was big, but he didn't do a lot.

50:21Hayden:For three questions, yeah he died when he premiered Tom. What weapon did Michelangelo have? In the UK depiction of the TV show.

50:34Tom:Nunchucks.

50:35Hayden:No, mitch, yeah like.

50:36Mitch:Nightstick likeunchucks. No Mitch Like Nightstick Like Billy Club or.

50:39Hayden:No, tonfus no.

50:41Mitch:I don't know. It looks like a Nightstick.

50:44Hayden:In the UK.

50:45Mitch:Depiction of the TV show here, oh, in the TV show Grappled Hook.

50:47Hayden:Yes, Mitch.

50:48Mitch:For one point.

50:49Tom:What Nunchucks were too violent?
