It was their story. It's a 10-part HBO miniseries. Tom Hanks, steven Spielberg did it. I will tell you it definitely holds up still today. The effects, the acting, the costumes, everything about it, every detail, the way they shot it, it was all really really really well done. Okay, and I could see why it still holds the better rep than the Pacific.

I read Eugene Sledge's book and Robert Leckie's book Helmet for my Pillow, and you know, fantastic books. If you have not read them and you are somewhat intrigued in World War II, those are fantastic reads.

It is one of the peak marks of a show based in World War II. It forever will be. The Pacific is very, very close . Band of Bros is 10 out of 10. They stole the piano from the lobby of the hotel and moved it into his room and would throw wild parties and they put all the guys from the Omega fraternity on the floor below them in the hotel so they had to listen to him and Kevin Bacon. He's like I'll be sitting there . It's like I hate those guys.

And who plays uh lewis nixon in the show? like they gave him a camera, like hey film okay like, while you guys are off doing like the training stuff, film it. And he would film it, it and the cadre guys would come and take the camera away. Then they were like HBO wants them to do it. They would film stuff too. All of them got in on it. Michael Cullis did the best impression of Dale Dye. There's a lot of profanity. I'm not going to do it because I don't want to get sauced.

And Dale Dye says something and then Michael Colton does it in front of him for the first time ever and it's like everybody grab a partner. They could only call each other by their names in the show.

But like that's why I think banner bros succeeded so well is they all had to go through that together with each other. So, like their natural, like you know, hanging out camaraderie is so like it's flawless, it's effortless for them because they were hanging out, having to go through this, you know boot camp crap for a show, and then you know there was like there was a couple guys who quit, but you know he's like there was other things. It's grounded, but sci-fi because it takes place in modern day and there's these group of scientists that are all friends Until they're not. Well, they start receiving this , what they assume is like a video game, but you put on this kind of golden-looking headset thing. It covers your eyes and your ears and it just immerses you into this world. Well come to find out through some flashbacks and stuff, this world Well, come to find out through some flashbacks and stuff. This Chinese scientist had used radio signals to contact aliens and those have been brought. And then, when they go to modern day, these things have

10:36ShareMitch:been brought in because you find out throughout the show, the aliens are on their way to Earth Because this woman, she specifically like in the first I think it's the first episode she sends this transmission out because she figures out a way to boost the transmission to where it'd have enough energy and be broad enough to reach the direction they're trying to go. And she gets a response back that basically says I'm a pacifist of this world, do not contact us back. My society will come and try to conquer, do not contact us back . And he says that several times Do not contact us back, do not reply to this message.

There are extraterrestrials out there on other planets that are not ours. Right, and they literally told you don't reach out again, because our society will find out where you are and conquer the planet.

12:12ShareMitch:Well, because supposedly and she goes and sends, well, basically, like, I guess, the alien that received it, he transmitted back and the message said you know, he's a pacifist, he received this message first Don't reach out again, because if the others hear it, they will come to conquer.

12:32ShareMitch:Throughout the show, you find out the aliens will be there in 400 years, because that's how many light years they are away. They have near light speed travel and it'll still take them 400 years to get there from the distance they are away. So the scientists that you meet throughout this show basically it's their job to come up with a way to find out more about the aliens and stop them.

So she developed this material, and so they're trying to develop ways to defend themselves but also find a way to find out more about these aliens, because throughout the game, the game is something that was sent to them, and some people in this show worship the aliens. They call them my lord. They transmit back and forth with them.

People are dumb. There's one instance where, basically, this guy convinces them, convinces the aliens on accident not to trust them because he's teaching them what a liar is.

And you can't talk to them because they could be making this crap. The reason the aliens are on their way is because they live in what's called a three body solar system, where this solar system has three sons. So every so many years they get like a chaotic cycle where basically their civilization is nearly wiped out. So that's why they're looking for a new solar system and they've heard Earth, so they're on their way here and this whole

Like at the very beginning of the show he builds like a castle and a throne inside the house and he's like this is my chair, I said here now. He's just like that dry kind of humor. But then they introduce the deputy and he's supposed to be

Crisis on Infinite Earths is where, basically, the antimatter is flowing through the universe and the Flash keeps getting pushed through different worlds and then, basically, in Crisis of Infinite Earths, part 2, the different Earths, all their best fighters and smartest people will come together to try and stop it, which actually leads to the League of Batman no it's got the anti-monitor which is the one trying to destroy everything, and then it's kind of like where you get the death of Supergirl and this whole thing. It actually they allude that the Flash remembers stuff from the previous incarnation of Justice League and stuff like movies where they retconned everything Because he does the Flash point

It's a game that's been out for a while. It's the Marvel. Midnight Suns is more the lower tier kind of characters. It does have Doctor Strange and Iron man in it, but it's one of those games where I didn't I kind of knew, but it's like turn-based, Like you get to do two or three attacks and then the bad guy gets to do two or three and it's just that's just not good for a fighting game. I hate that.

You are like the backup to the Fellowship. Okay, like you go through, go through, like you get allies, elves, dwarves, men, people, like you basically just follow through the fellowship. But you're like you know a week behind them, okay, like just in case they fail. You guys are there, okay, and you know epic warriors and fight

You are trying to block, move, dodge, strike and win against an opponent that's supposed to be stronger and better than you. Yeah, I'd say it was a great fighting game in its own way. That doesn't get a lot of credit is Star Wars Revenge of the Sith.

27:53ShareMitch:I'll go through this kind of quicker so because we got to add this together. So the uh, the new star wars outlaws. People are already mad about that game. It's supposed to be that open world like bounty hunter now it's not well, it is, but they've already because it's, I think, it's, I think it's ea they've already announced that the one of the list missions is already locked behind a paywall. Like, you gotta buy the season pass to do this one. Jabba the Hutt mission, you gotta buy the season pass to do it.

28:23ShareMitch:I don't know for sure if it's EA, but I think it is. Ea, I'm pretty sure it's a Peter Jackson's actually in talks to revive his Lord of the Rings franchise with Warner Brothers.

28:37ShareMitch:Oh really, yeah, About the Shire. Yeah, what are you doing in the Shire? You do Shire stuff.

28:42ShareYou walk around, you pick some vegetables. Yeah, I mean it's got to be better than the Gollum game. Hang on, lord of the Rings.

28:49ShareMitch:While, while you're looking that up, james Gunn's confirmed the scripts for Peacemaker, supergirl, creature, commandos are complete and we can expect some casting news from Brave and the Bold, which is the Batman movie Lanterns, which is I don't know if it's going to be a movie or if it's still going to be a TV show, and it says upcoming other DC projects in the next coming months to next year. So it'll be interesting to see for Brave and the Bold who they make Batman and Robin.

29:22ShareRPG kind of stuff or what the typical Hobbit. In practice, hobbits were happy to live quite uneventful lives, so it's refreshing to see a new Lord of the Rings game that champions the typical Hobbit lifestyle, giving gamers the chance to live a quaint and cozy life in Bywater, just as all good and self-respecting Hobbits intended to do. Apparently, it's a cozy game.

29:49ShareMitch:You're just in the Shire. It looks like Minecraft like the Shire version, it's a Hobbit version of Minecraft.

29:56SharePlayers should be able to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, with plenty of time to eat, cook, garden and of course throw celebrations.

30:07ShareRewarding, gardening, it just kind of. Yeah, I mean the graphics, I mean it looks, you know cartoony yes, it looks very good. I mean, but like it's not, you know, I mean, the best Lord of the Rings games was Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers and Return of the King, oh yeah, and then Battle of the Middle-Ears, and then the Battle of Helm's Deep Mission, yeah, and then, well, there was the two games. Was it War of the Ring, or something like that?

30:37ShareNo, those were like the RPG ones, like Shadow of Mordor, I don't know, or whatever. Those were good.

30:44ShareMitch:Yeah, I played some of those. Those were pretty fun. The next bit of news I had was the Predator franchise has already announced that there's going to be two sequels. There's going to be Badlands and Prey 2. I don't like if you watch the original Prey movie, I did watch Prey finally. Oh, you did me and Rachel watched it did you see like the end credits with like the cartoony stuff as the credits are rolling? yeah, I don't remember it basically, it basically reveals that the, the predators, came in and wiped out that Indian tribe oh really yeah, that's, that's what the cartoony stuff in the credits Because she gets that pistol with the letters on it that Danny Glover gets. That's how the Predators got it .

31:24ShareMitch:It's because they came and wiped out her village, because basically, whenever the Predators lose, they make sure there's no trace of them. That's why they try to blow themselves up or whatever.

31:34ShareSo, like you mean, there's no trace of them. So why would they come find Danny Glover and give him like a trophy?

31:41ShareMitch:Just because he has that, you can't prove that it's the Predator. He just has an old gun.

31:44ShareHow is she going to prove it's the Predator?

31:45ShareMitch:Well, she had his head, remember she comes back to the village with the Predator's head, so they had to erase all evidence.

31:56ShareMitch:Probably. But you got Badlands, which I don't know if that'll be like a modern take, and then Prey 2, which I don't know. There's been a lot of people really wanting a samurai version .

32:14ShareMitch:Good fight in the rain. See Fallout has already been approved for a season two.

32:20ShareMitch:X-Men 97, they've already approved it for Season 3 and, I think, 4. Wow, because they already had a Season 2 approved beforehand. The Witcher series is officially canceled by Netflix.

32:30ShareGood it should have been. Season 3 was not good, 4 was terrible. Because, you don't have Henry Cavill playing the Witcher, and they didn't want to do the story in the book's source, material justice.

32:48ShareMitch:Supposedly, there's going to be a live action adaptation of Masters of the Universe, which will be released on June 5th of 2026.

32:53ShareI want Henry Cavill to play Skeletor. Meh and I really want them somehow to work in the hey, yeah , yeah, yeah. I said hey, what's going on? Woo.

33:08ShareMitch:And then, if you've seen the Deadpool and Logan trailer, have you seen that?

33:11ShareI saw where he stabs him in the nuts Because he's like swinging, he's like dodging and he just goes and just uppercuts him in the nuts.

33:19ShareMitch:Well, basically, from what the trailer looks like, they're going to be traveling through the different timelines or dimensions, because there's one spot where you see the TVA chasing after Deadpool, but then they actually showed a scene where you have a giant Ant-Man's head. They open it up and people walk in like they're steps and there's some of the mutants on the outside that you can see are Callisto from X-Men, last Stand Deathstrike, lady Deathstrike with, like the four fingers. Azazel, which is the red guy that looks kind of like Nightcrawler Pyro from X-Men 2, and then Ray Park is Toad again. Oh yeah, those are the ones.

34:00ShareMitch:Supposedly. Yes, nice, but those are the ones that you can kind of confirm. They said there's another one that looks kind of like Sabretooth from the original X-Men, but those are just some of the mutants that are going to be showing up in the X-Men or Deadpool and Wolverine.

I don't know how y'all got involved with comic books, but I got involved by, like as a kid I would read and like, look at stuff, and I was like, yeah, I like the cartoons. But it probably wasn't until after I got out of high school that I got to become a real nerd . I don't know if any of y'all have ever heard of the website called. It was called Electric Ferret back in like 2007 for the older people, but basically you would take two characters and you would write out like a page narrative and you'd be basically creating the reason why they would fight and then you would have people vote and stuff. But I really got into comics then because then you'd have

36:42ShareMitch:people debating like, oh well, you know he can lift a building as opposed to, but I wanted to kind of walk around If anybody was willing to volunteer. You know kind of how they got into comic books or why they like comic books.

36:56ShareI will just walk up to people and point them out. Anybody want to. We could turn this into the Jerry Springer show real quick.

37:13ShareMitch:I love it, Forced to read. There's cords down there. What did you like about comics? What I liked about them? What was your? So I'm a member of.

37:27ShareAntGuard and I didn't do comics, I did gaming and Nintendo stuff growing up and we do Fight of the Night and that's where we come out and sort of fight for bits.

37:35ShareMitch:And one of the first Fight of the Night I did was for Comic-Con and they gave me free stuff and I was like free stuff and the comic books, just kind of.

37:45ShareI love how the reasons so far have been forced and free. That's great. Anybody else want to?

38:06ShareMitch:I got involved with Loving Comic Books on the Lico City Woo.

38:15ShareLong Island. I really love Comic Books since I was a little girl.

38:20ShareMitch:It's simply because, when I found out, that Jack Kirby and Stan Lee literally put comic books together. It was kind of a level of playing field, the wars that were going on, people who didn't have a voice to speak for themselves and the people in urban neighborhoods as well.

38:36ShareHe made those.

38:37ShareMitch:They put those comic books together to kind of make us feel like heroes ourselves, and so I really enjoyed that. With my hands, kind of drawing, all the characters that come to us Went around the corner every day, getting in new companies all the time.

39:10ShareMitch:I am a big theater nerd, and when I was younger I didn't really read comic books all too much, but I found a comic version of Romeo and Juliet when I was really young and I read that and I just thought the format was really cool and I would use it more in the DC and all that.

41:14ShareMitch:If you like no capes, raise your hand. If you do like capes, raise your hand. See, those are the better people, because you couldn't have Superman and Batman without them.

41:25ShareYou could, they just wouldn't have a cape.

41:29ShareLike Superman goes home and he's wearing his pajamas, he's still Superman.

41:35ShareMitch:Well, I also asked if you liked characters that either killed or did not kill. So if you like characters that kill, raise your hand.

42:25ShareMitch:And then I took a small poll of who likes their favorite X-Men, and Wolverine won by a little bit, nightcrawler was in second place . And then I was going to do a poll on who liked what show or movie that's comic-related, but there was a lot, so a lot, of different ones, so we kind of moved on from that one.
