0:00Tom:Green does mean go. Mitch Red now means we're recording. Stop. How many episodes are we doing this?
0:14Mitch:How often do I pay attention? Never.
0:28Tom:Hello and welcome to entertain this, a podcast about movies, tv shows and video games . I'm Tom with me, I have Mitch and, oh, that's right, he's not here.
0:38Mitch:I don't remember which one's the crickets.
0:41Tom:I just know the red one's the sound of our opening intro. So, as you've probably surmised , hayden's not here For legitimate reason. He's sick actually, this time instead of doing military stuff or serving his country. So, in the spirit of him actually being ill, we didn't drag him here on life support.
1:04Mitch:You're my boy blue.
1:06Tom:Do it for the Gipper, so we'll forgo Hayden's punishment. Maybe, I don't know, we'll decide later. Anywho's, if you've been paying attention, following us or listening to all of our stuff and keeping up on Facebook, this Saturday we're going to be in Lawrenceville for free comic book day. Got a bunch of cool prizes, like limited edition lightsabers what that? Limited edition like Spider-Man that I spent money on. Lot of stuff worth hundreds of dollars, including some free comics. Lot of stuff going on over there. So if you're available and in town, swing on by and say hi to your boys.
1:43Mitch:The hours did change. They've changed it. Now it was like 10 to 8 and now it's going to be 12 to 3.
1:50Tom:So it's only 3 hours. Yes.
1:53Mitch:I mean technically it's 12 to 6 if you stay and watch the movie.
1:56Tom:Yeah, I'm not staying and watching games.
1:58Mitch:But we'll be there from 12 to 3.
2:00Tom:So come and say this. So, and since we're talking about our social media and outings and events, mitch.
2:07Mitch:Well, you have entertainthispodcastcom, which will take you to our Facebook, which entertain this podcast, which is the group we have entertain this exclamation point , which is the page. We have our Twitter, which is atthisentertain. We have our Patreon, which is patreoncom. Entertain. Underscore this. We have our TikTok, which entertain this exclamation point .
2:26Tom:Tom has our Twitch which is entertain, underscore this exclamation point. And there's occasionally things on there. I did buy a gaming laptop, alienware, you know, souped up. It got delivered to it's in Georgia. It's been in Georgia for a week , has yet to make it to my house . So I'll be going to the FedEx place after this. And a top pro tip to you people who order things. Don't order from FedEx, they suck.
2:51Mitch:Yeah, it's been what? 20 minutes away for a week.
2:55Tom:So next episode I will be one of two things I have the laptop, we have Twitch stuff going on, you know high quality gameplay, you know great frame rates, or I'm incarcerated for criminal trespass and terrorist threats and acts. So we'll see what happens. Now to speed up into the show. Punishment review Hayden Hayden , he's the one who punished me. Yes, yeah, fractured minds, I'm just a fractured blood hole. I was like no, that's, that's South Park. It's a game that came out. Think like what? 2018, something like that, or 20. It won a BAFTA.
3:31Mitch:What was that?
3:33Tom:It's a British award.
3:34Mitch:OK.
3:36Tom:For things and stuff. It's a puzzle role playing video game developed by British game designer, emily Mitchell, published by Wired Productions. It's on, you name it, it's out there 2017. Yeah, when a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for game making, this was a punishment game. So the premise of the game it's an immersive puzzle game which there is puzzles, and it took me a minute to figure out one of them. It's gives players the I'll just quote what it says genuine insight into the experiences of those living with mental illnesses, the feelings of isolation, of being trapped In everyday situations being distorted beyond recognition. So the proceeds of the sales go to a charitable group that
4:20Tom:supports World Mental Health Day and provides other people, you know services for people who live with that. It was a weird game. It's like eight, six levels or something like that, or like six main chapters.
4:31Mitch:Anything about it? Yeah?
4:34Tom:I never heard of it until Hayden said I had to play it. It was two bucks on the game pass. It was not free anymore.
4:38Mitch:OK.
4:40Tom:Well, since the proceeds are charitable, donated I didn't feel bad donating it was. It's interesting. It was an interesting puzzle game. It kind of freaks you out at some points because, like stuffs are getting weird, and I guess it gave me a bit of insight into people who do deal with mental health issues such as that.
4:55Mitch:Like, what kind of puzzles did it have? Like, well, there's one.
4:59Tom:Like you're in a room and you find a key and it says wrong key on the screen, but that text doesn't disappear. And so you start moving through the room, open and drawers, you know, taking pains up the wall. You find more keys and it just says wrong key, wrong key. It just fills up your whole screen. It's like it's wrong, it's wrong, it's wrong. And then you find the one it's like the right key, and it just shows up and you go out and then you start the next chapter, and one of the ones that was weird Is you go across the street and there's, like you know, all this stuff is like a key lock you have to get through. So it's like a bunch of chains and a padlock.
5:29Mitch:So it's kind of like the escape room kind of thing, sort of OK.
5:32Tom:And you have to cross the street. You know, there's like people walking, they're all looking at their phones, which is accurate. And then there's like the creepy thing. That's like two feet tall than everybody else and I was like this weird squiggly smiley face on it. That's like following you around. So that's, that was weird, terrifying. That was a little terrifying. And then I couldn't figure out where to find the keys and I looked and like somebody had like a symbol on the back of their body and someone had a different one. I was like, ok, so I looked at the window and it showed, like you know, the sequence of symbols to equal the unlock and I'm like, all right, well, what do I do to them?
6:06Tom:So I'm like welcome to people and I'm like you know to interact and like nothing happens. And I was like, ok, and then when I came by and it was the first one is on the back. So I walked up, pressed a and it was like it disappeared. And then I looked at the mirror or the window that had the instructions and that one had disappeared and I was like, oh, ok, so there's some little. I didn't get the whole way through, so I don't know if the puzzles get a little bit harder, or if it continues on. It wasn't a bad game. I mean, it's not one I would have actively sought out to play , and you know, the only reason I play is because I had to. Yeah. Because of Hayden who's not here, jerk, so I mean I'd give
6:42Tom:it a. It made like she was a young kid who made the game. So props to you for making a video game. It was way better than soda drink a pro.
6:51Mitch:Well, I remember, like I guess it was probably been almost a little over a year now, with me and Hayden for a while we had bought this game called like the Turing Turing Test or something like that and it was like straight, straight puzzle like you had to solve how to get from room to room in this space station and stuff. So I mean I've played things like that before. I mean after a while they get kind of still, but I don't see where this would be that much of a punishment.
7:15Tom:Now I really I mean, I kept. I always started steam rolling through like everything and I was like, oh, you're in chapter four. I was like only six and I was like man, I only played for like 40 minutes and a lot of it was like I got to go to the bathroom , I got something to drink. Yeah, I sat down, got comfortable ate something while I'm still playing.
7:33Mitch:So what you're saying is Hayden failed.
7:36Tom:Yeah, it was not a punishment. I did not feel punished in any way.
7:40Mitch:You just felt like it was a different genre of game.
7:44Tom:A game that was specifically tailored to a specific group and, you know, to give insight into the world of mental illness or people who live with like those feelings of isolation and live with anxiety and all that.
7:55Mitch:So you completed these pretty easily.
7:57Tom:Yes.
7:58Mitch:So do you have this middle of this?
8:00Tom:probably, it's quite possible these were all normal.
8:04Mitch:I give it a five out of 10.
8:05Tom:I wasn't like, wow, this is a great game. But I wasn't like this is Balderdash. This is horrible. I controls don't make sense. They don't do anything.
8:12Mitch:Did it have like really bad graphics, or were they? I mean just, I mean were they Nintendo 64 looking things?
8:17Tom:No, no, no no, I mean they were. It wasn't like oh my god, crystal clear, 4k high definition, 120 frames per second, 240.
8:24Mitch:Hertz.
8:25Tom:It's like now. It's like it's just their graphics. You know, it's a cartoony almost.
8:29Mitch:Okay that's. I was wondering if it'd be like kind of wonky looking stuff. It had the indie game. Look to it.
8:33Tom:I mean one like two awards, okay. Oh, like this really wasn't a punishment. It wasn't like I had to play like Leisure Suit, larry, box office bomb or something. So I didn't feel like I was really punished, but I mean it wasn't horrible. I mean I'd probably go back and finish it. I probably won't. I said that about two other games or things.
8:51Mitch:I was watching, like I had to watch Animorphs.
8:53Tom:I bought the whole season. I watched like 10 episodes and I haven't watched it since.
8:57Mitch:Yeah, that's kind of how mine went to. I had to buy dads when you punished me with that and you ended up liking the show. It wasn't that bad, but I never did finish it.
9:07Tom:So that's it for a punishment review. Mitch, I believe you had movies , movies, what did you watch?
9:14Mitch:I watched the Suicide Squad, not Suicide Squad, but THE Suicide Squad which? Is the most recent one that just came out on HBO Max, and IMDB gives it a 7.5. Go ahead and tell you I gave it a 6. I was not impressed. And before we get any further into the review, because you can't really review this movie without spoiling it, so here's your spoiler warning Turn off or fast forward for the next 10 minutes or so, probably the next four minutes.
9:42Tom:Maybe, so, Just jump ahead and if we're still talking about it, jump ahead again. If we're not, skip back a little bit, pick up where you left off.
9:49Mitch:This is your warning though. So, anyways, when you start watching and you saw all the like, michael Rooker and all those other Nathan Fillion and all that in the trailer, have you seen it? Yeah, they're all dead in the first 10 minutes. Maybe, maybe, shorter.
10:05Tom:You just all get shwacked right off the bat.
10:06Mitch:Yeah, you have the. I forgot the guy's name that plays a general flag, but our Rick flag. He's alive, harley Quinn's alive, and then you have the like, the main people, which are King Shark, john Cena's peacemaker, blood sport, which is I just elbow and I forgot his name but the polka dot man and the rat catcher to polka dot.
10:31Tom:man and rat Okay. Yeah, they're like the main run out of stones, aren't we?
10:37Mitch:Yeah, even like Captain Boomerang dies and like the first couple minutes.
10:40Tom:I didn't like him from the other one anyway.
10:44Mitch:So yeah, it was very gruesome and like, like what's the real annoying comedian guy that played, that has the blonde hair that's in this movie?
10:54Tom:I didn't see it.
10:54Mitch:so I mean, I thought you had seen him from the trailer. He's I don't know. He's like betrays them right at the beginning and gets shot in the face when he's like oh, because they're supposed to sneak onto this island.
11:04Tom:He's like haha, I've betrayed you all Pow.
11:06Mitch:Well, he sneaks onto the island. He's like all right guys, he stands up while they're all sneaking in. He's like they're right here, you, just, you know, I'm the one that called you and they get shot in the face.
11:15Tom:So was it. What's his face from Saturday Night Live?
11:18Mitch:Yeah. Okay, that guy. He dies immediately Good.
11:21Tom:I don't like that guy .
11:24Mitch:And then you have Michael Rooker's character, like he's the last one alive out of this little one side of the group and as everyone's dying, he like, freaks out and starts screaming and tries to run away, and Amanda Waller blows his head off by pressing the button.
11:36Tom:So I mean Does anybody kill Amanda Waller?
11:38Mitch:No, they do hit her in the head with a golf club to knock her out, because that's good. The people something, her little command staff or whatever , don't agree with what she's been doing. So but like your main villain is Starro, this giant star looking thing, and like I mean I guess he's not the main villain . Technically Amanda Waller is the main villain, but I just did not like it. Their whole thing premise was to go to this like South American country, because they had this what they considered a tactical metahuman nuke which ends up being Starro, which he's like a 50 foot or 50 story tall starfish that puts out all these little little starfish that attached to people's face and take over their bodies and minds.
12:23Tom:That's neat.
12:24Mitch:So like he can make his own army, he just releases all these starfish and they attach to the people.
12:28Tom:So some sort of helmet is in order.
12:31Mitch:Well, it just like takes over their face. It looks like mentor versions of him, but he's like released in the last 10, 15 minutes of the movie. The rest of it. It's all them trying to get to this place and it's just. I don't know.
12:46Tom:It just wasn't good.
12:48Mitch:I don't like the plot was very subpar, like I mean, the first Suicide Squad movie was not great, but I liked it better than this one and I like the first one. I just didn't think it was wonderful. But at least the villain, like you know, in the first one you have enchantress. You know the objective is to get there, stop her and this one . They're just kind of meandering about to try and get into this facility and then one of the guys reveals that oh, amanda Waller and the US is the bad guys the entire time. They just want you to erase this footage. It's like oh my god. Okay, john Cena, the best part is John Cena and Idris Elba as their characters. I just elbow did not want to be part of this team.
13:27Mitch:Yeah, team, but like they, he, through some stuff, gets threatened to where you know he has to join it, and then the whole time he's just like annoyed by everyone that he has to work with.
13:37Tom:He's just, like you know, moping around in the back.
13:40Mitch:Well, I know he's the leader of his side of like his part of the team, but he's got John Cena with him and John Cena is like I do everything better than you and that's essentially what he does. Like they had one argument. He's like you know, you shoot bullets. I shoot smaller bullets to go through those bullet holes. I'm untraceable.
13:59Tom:It's like okay, the only thing I knew about John Cena's character is he was walking around Los Angeles wearing it. Yeah, just because he could. He.
14:06Mitch:I mean he's just kind of like this, you know smart-ass Jurt of a Captain America version. I mean he's Like in one of the trailers he talks about y'all. I don't care how many men, women or children I have to kill , I will get peace like there's a good Good part of the movie where they're like sneaking into this base. And him and a bloodsport was. I just help. Us are like competing who can kill the guards the best way or the fastest or whatever. So they're just like running through and they're looking each other. He shoots one and the other one goes. You know, he grabs it, stabs the guy, you know just trying to one-up each other the entire way and then you have people like the polka dot man where, like, essentially, he's like one
14:51Mitch:of the most powerful ones there .
14:53Tom:But he has the worst name.
14:54Mitch:Yeah, he like he releases polka dots like out of his arms and it basically just vaporizes anything it touches.
15:03Tom:Okay, let's me so like he needs a better name though. Yeah, because polka dot man doesn't really inspire a lot of fear into people like, oh my god , it's the polka dot man, ooh.
15:15Mitch:But I mean visually it's a really fun movie to watch , but just as far as story it was just very boring and I care I could care less about what they were doing. It was like I said, it was fun to watch John Cena and I just able to interact with their characters.
15:29Tom:Overall. The rest of it was kind of just yeah, you just thought you're getting dragged along.
15:33Mitch:Yeah, my Margaret Robbie she was. You know she was hardly Quinn like she is in all the other movies that she's been in. Sylvester Stallone was pretty funny as a king shark, I mean. Granted, all he did was the voice, but yeah the king shark character was pretty funny, but he like disappears for points of the movie. There's one point where they're putting up bombs like on this building to explode and he just kind of wonders off every time they show him. He's like Planting bombs and he's kind of wonders away as they're like moving on to the next thing she's like looking around, like this goes. He's in his own little world pretty much, but I for the most part he's like indestructible, because like people shoot him,
16:10Mitch:you see like the bullets bouncing off and he's just kind of like huh.
16:13Tom:He just walks over and bites him in the face.
16:15Mitch:Yeah, I mean, he tears one guy in half.
16:18Tom:That's always cool but uh, yeah. So you're a six out of ten.
16:23Mitch:Yeah, like IMDB gave it a seven point five, it made, I think they said, 71 million worldwide. It cost 185 million to make, which I mean granted, they made it before the pandemic started, so now it's you know it's not gonna make as much back. It's the highest grossing already movies since all the you know COVID stuff happened.
16:45Tom:But uh, it's definitely a weird time for movies it because of the HBO Max .
16:49Mitch:They had a lot of people that watched it from home , which they had 2.8 million downloads on HBO Max, and they said if you, you know, did $10 per household, that would be 56 million dollars. So you can add that on top of the 71 and that's kind of what they would.
17:04Tom:So roughly they would have like broken even that.
17:06Mitch:Yeah, I mean that's roughly what they would have made on their first weekend. So I mean they almost made a hundred. This was a hundred, and it's like two years ago.
17:15Tom:There's probably would have been a box office success.
17:17Mitch:Yeah, I would think so, but yeah, because of the COVID and because that man in it . No, no lame, because of the like the, the release of the on HBO Max and stuff, it just kind of killed the, the overall. You know, movie theater, yeah, the movie theater experience and yeah, but uh, yeah, it's alright to watch. I haven't don't really have an eye, a need or want to watch it again, but yeah, I move on to my news, the. The venom movie that was supposed to come out in September has now been delayed for another month, back to October. Damn it. I'm kind of looking forward to that. I like Tom Hardy and I like Venom.
17:56Tom:I like his venom just because the whole time he looks like crap. The whole movie's like talking to himself and he's freaked out by stuff that's happening. Yeah, he's not like. You know, useless, you know Shirtless scene with him and he's just like you know I'm Tom Hardy, you know being all handsome and ripped. He's just he looks like he's like coming off of drugs. They're like a bender and he's just like all sweating, like to shovel. He's like oh my god.
18:17Mitch:And I'm interested to see Woody Harrelson as carnage. Yeah, that's because he's like a serial killer, that's, I could see him playing that character. There's another movie called the plane that will be coming out. Feature in Gerard Butler. Oh. God, let me. Can you guess what he's gonna be doing?
18:35Tom:He's gonna be on a plane. Is he the pilot, or is he a guy who has to fly the plane?
18:40Mitch:Oh, he has to land a storm, damaged plane and hostile territory, while militant pirates want to take them hostage.
18:47Tom:Oh.
18:48Mitch:It's another words. You know part of the course for his kind of movies nowadays. Yeah, it's been a while since, like 300 if he's not saving the president, he's, you know, fighting off some kind of rogue military group by himself.
19:01Tom:It's like he did, you know, 300. I was like, oh, it's our voter. And I was like, hey, that was the guy from the first Tomb Raider movie. Yeah, or the second Tomb Raider movie, what? Now, what's his face? Daniel Craig was on the first one and then, you know, it's like 300 and he's like law-abiding citizen and you know , Olympus is falling. It's like, yeah, gerard Butler. And then like you know what he was in Greenland? Oh yeah, he's been in like just a bunch of crappy movies and like disaster crap. And you're just like what are you doing, cuz he's not a bad actor? And then he's like you know you could do other stuff, but I don't even know if he gets offered it.
19:32Mitch:He's taking the late a career of Bruce Willis role. Like you know, starting an Armageddon he had a good you know.
19:40Tom:He had a good run of movies, like you know, die hard was it? Fifth element.
19:45Mitch:Yeah, yeah, fifth element fifth element like you know, he had the, the kids, six cents Armageddon. No, he's just gonna die die hard bad movies.
19:54Tom:It's just like you know. You see him in like a weird, you know Like indie film role and like him and Bill Murray are standing there is like you know what is going on here, so that sucks for Gerard Butler and then . I'm sure, yeah, I'm sure, he's filthy rich, I'm sure, and I'm sure his life is just terrible.
20:12Mitch:And for my last part of news, home alone is getting a reboot.
20:16Tom:There's no reason for that to happen.
20:17Mitch:You're right on, but it'll be on Disney Plus, like you know strictly.
20:23Tom:It'll come out November 12th at the end of the movie Do they call defects and his parents get arrested and well it's a cruel teen abandonment.
20:30Mitch:I don't know like the whole details. I just know that Archie Yates, which is the kid from Jojo Rabbit, it's gonna be the that's Jojo Rabbit's hard to move, but yeah, he's gonna be like the kid that's home alone. There's a couple other people that I didn't recognize their names and Kenan Thompson will be in it somehow, and I don't know what he'll his role will be, you know.
20:52Tom:But why are they reading? Why I'm mad about this? I guess it's home alone was such a great movie.
20:58Mitch:And this will be called home, sweet home alone dumb, dumb, dumb.
21:04Tom:I don't want to watch it.
21:05Mitch:So well, that's what I got. I'm not watching it.
21:07Tom:There'll be a punishment movie. I'll be the only way you force me to see it. It's like here you go, you get to watch this. It's like I don't want you, just add it to the list. Yeah, so I just want to watch regular home alone, my colleague Colkin. Yeah and Joe Pesci going fricking fast.
21:24Mitch:Yeah, that's all my news for movies. I guess on the TV I want to do.
21:27Tom:Hayden, oh yeah, in the spirit of it. Tv, I'll do it. And video games. So I watched the new grand tour special lockdown but obviously you play on the word lockdown with Loch Ness in Scotland. So your favorite trio of bumbling middle-aged men Get old American cars like from like the 70s and, like you know, late 70s, middle late 70s, and Trek from England to Scotland and naturally hijinks and BS occur and then just getting mad at each other. I was reading about their show and the producer, for he did Top Gear with them, and then for the grand tour, andy Wilman, he's like, yeah, he's like we got to Scotland and there were so many other British television shows just filming stuff there Because we can't go anywhere.
22:17Tom:You know all the safety regulations with England. So, yeah, cuz like they were talking about, it was like, oh, we can go here, and it's like, no, we can't. How about here? No, oh, what about there? No, well, that's Scotland. Yeah, like they were going through filming and like they passed another show filming. Oh yeah, I didn't see that they went out to dinner and saw other people from film crews and like you know Celebrities for, like English television, just hanging out because they were filming. They felt they just got done filming. That day they're having a drink at the pub and they're gonna go hang out. The funniest thing they did is they had a because you saw it, they got the caravans or whatever because they couldn't
22:54Tom:stay at hotels. Yeah. COVID or anything, which I'm sure was probably some Distorted BS, just so they could do that stupid crap. Yeah, and they pull in like a gas station or whatever and James has to obviously go to the bathroom. And he goes to the bathroom and Jeremy and Richard are standing there and Richard just looks over and sees like a water truck and they both look at each other and then the next scene is them running with the hose, jeremy's on top of the top of James's caravan, filling it in through the sky like See, like fills up almost all the way. You see the little furnace on the door is amazing and, like you know, they run away and hide everything and James comes back and like, can see it like kind of through the window, goes off
23:33Tom:funny, and he opens the door, all the water rushes out, knocks him down. That's fit my drink eggs, like I know it's coming, but I was still. It was still hilarious. It was very much a. It was a grand tour episode, which grand tour and top year had their own little bits of flair, but this was a much more in the vein of like prime top gear. Yeah it felt like a top gear episode.
23:58Mitch:Yeah, there was. I like the one part. There was a Jeremy Clarkson's driving down the road. I guess he's like, ah, that's bad, he's just goes flying off the light the side of it it was pretty good.
24:15Tom:It was. It was very fun. Richard crashes a boat into nothing and capsizes, well turning, and you just like how, yeah, physics cease to exist in that spot in time.
24:25Mitch:I mean not just crash , but like he fully submerges that yeah he just, and they're just stand there looking at him like. I enjoyed that. It was really funny. I like all their stuff.
24:37Tom:Anybody who's watched TV and, like you, have like live shows. When you have you know real celebrities and they're together . You know people watch the voice or something, all those Competition shows and you have all these celebrities and they have to like look Pali, and like they hang out and you know, be funny and it always seems forced . Yeah, you go watch the three of them build Legos and drink vodka and it's the funniest thing in the world. Like you, jeremy has a farming show and I can't help but watch Cuz he knows nothing. He knows nothing. He there, the three, each of them on their own, is very funny . James, I think, is probably the funniest, just because he's such a dull person and His responses to everything are just
25:12Tom:like out of left field and half the time he says something that he doesn't mean to be funny, but it's absolutely hysterical. But you put the three of them together and give them cars or anything, airplanes or, it doesn't matter boats, trucks, you know like, hey, you guys are gonna buy mopeds and drive from South to North Vietnam. Yeah and they're like and it's the funniest crap you ever watched on TV, just cuz the three of them yelling at each other like talking is hysterical .
25:36Mitch:Well, they had one you know this episode or it's a special, but where they had to build their vehicle and then drive like somewhere across, like they drive across Mongolia, mongolia yeah, that was such a funny and they wouldn't let Richard drive.
25:48Tom:And they like, they let him drive, like the last two feet and in right before he's about to sit down, they go down, we'll do it. It's like all right, we're here and he's like damn it.
25:56Mitch:I just like they had to build the whole thing and the whole time they're riding they're like Left and right because of, like the divots, all that stuff that was swath land.
26:04Tom:It was a lot of fun it was a very good episode and it's been waiting to come out for this one for months. Yeah, but they're teasing. Another one and another article I read. They don't know how much more grand tour they're actually going to do, okay, just because they're getting old.
26:19Mitch:I mean, I did hear them say they're at least gonna have one more like when they film this there. So they said we will be back.
26:24Tom:So I hope yeah, but it sucks because, like when I started watching talk to you, they were a lot younger.
26:31Mitch:Oh yeah, that was what 20 something years ago.
26:33Tom:Yeah, their first season of top gear before James even showed up is just, it was Jeremy Richard and a guy called Jason Dawes, or fat Jason is what they called him Obviously for obvious reasons, that's starting 2002.
26:45Mitch:Okay, so yeah.
26:48Tom:And what before seemed like I was like ten years ago, it's like nope, that was almost 20 years ago now. It was 19 years ago. Yeah. It's, it's creepy, it's weird. I don't like it. I don't like how time's going forward. They all had hair and it was darker. Now they're like gray and old and fat and slow. I don't remember where I was in 2002. That was probably middle school barely bought now.
27:11No, it was not barely boy, I was nine years old sir.
27:14Tom:I'll have the know you.
27:17Mitch:Weren't even double digits on graduating high school . You make me feel even older. You're not that one. You shouldn't be that much younger than.
27:22Tom:God, you got gray hair. Just put the blank on. You. Sit there in the rocking chair Just as like a meme I saw where this guy's like you know, it's like the granddad and the son and the granddad's, like you know quote bubble. It's like back in our day, you know, there was no updates. If a game sucked, he bought the game and that was it. If it was garbage, that was it. You were stuck with it. And the kids like, alright, grandpa, come on, let's go bad he's like you can't believe me. That's what this feels like pretty much, so I'd rate that, though, lock down their little special. I give that nine out of ten and . I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was it's a quicker watch. It was very funny, always well done.
28:01Mitch:I don't have their geniuses of television. I don't think they've had anything that's not entertaining , at least.
28:06Tom:Now I can't be a single show that they've done, that I wasn't, or a special that I wasn't. Absolutely just laughed at some point onto news. Avatar the last airbender, netflix live-action series.
28:20Mitch:Yeah, I saw that.
28:22Tom:They announced a cast of people. I don't know.
28:26Mitch:But I knew they were making one.
28:28Tom:I didn't know how far they were with it looking at the cast, I can pretty much tell who's playing who. I'm gonna show you the picture. It's like that's gonna be aing. That's the girl, that's her brother. There's Zuko.
28:40Mitch:Yeah, that looks pretty much right. I just go left to right.
28:43Tom:I'm like I can see who you're going to play. So if you're well cast, yeah that I look at you and go, you got to be this guy. And they go. Well, yeah, it's like nice. I'm kind of I don't get why they're doing a live-action show this, especially when the live-action movie. The movie was terrible, but but the cartoon I've taught last airbender great, great series, fantastic show, even now like it's still gaining a big following.
29:09Mitch:What I did hear about that show is that they are trying to get the, the writers and stuff and the I guess, the directors of the cartoon to help with the TV show so I look at the age group, but how the castle.
29:18Tom:It looks like it's the very beginning of Avatar. Last day runs like are you just gonna redo the cartoon?
29:23Mitch:Propably in live-action.
29:25Tom:We already know what happens.
29:26Mitch:Well, I've never seen the whole thing, I've only seen parts of it.
29:29Tom:I bet you they're gonna tell me that the four nations lived in peace. Then the fire nation attacked you mean the basic? Plot behind the whole thing, behind the entire thing. And there was these people called Avatars and then they disappeared and then they're gonna find him and some ice and oppa, the big fine bison six feet.
29:46Mitch:As long as it has like good fight choreography, I would be entertained by it, as long you know I mean.
29:52Tom:That's a lot of fight stuff for cartoons. We've loses a lot of its Wow factor and just because it's a cartoon. Yeah live-action stuff will create special effects and choreography Adds to it so much. Yeah. But you can't just base an entire show on them doing airbender and waterbending stuff and be like this is it? As long as the writing sucks, the acting sucks. Put the fight scenes are cool.
30:16Mitch:As long as the acting is decent. I feel like their main thing they got to focus on is their fight choreography and special effects, because you got all the fire, it's gotta be earth, yeah .
30:26Tom:Whoever's doing the visual effects, they have the potential to do some really cool looking stuff. Yeah, or f it up totally, so we'll see what happens. And who's? Video games. Hayden, take it away. Wow, riveting. Hey, hey, not a. What? Not all at once? Huh, all right, never. So we all three of us, you know , including Hayden played Second . Was it second extinction?
30:54Mitch:Yeah, it's a preview game that they have on Xbox, so it's not like the. It's not the final product, but it seemed pretty finished the loading stuff was oh yeah, it was quick fast.
31:05Tom:Graphics weren't terrible.
31:06Mitch:It was. The graphics were kind of like the, almost like apex, kind of like cartoonish a little bit graphics.
31:12Tom:Yeah, but like you know quality graphs, but like they still had that that feel to it.
31:15Mitch:Yeah, they were, they were good.
31:18Tom:So it's the premise of the game is dinosaurs. Yeah, take over the planet and we're living in space.
31:23Mitch:Yeah, there's like a second wave of dinosaurs that I don't remember where they came from, because we kind of skip through that part Just to play.
31:30Tom:Yeah, I don't know where they came from. Hey, it was like skip it skip it, skip it. It's like alright, because I wanted to know what the plot was . Yeah, just I knew what was going on and he's like he's skip it so we could all play. I mean, we play like what? Two, three hours ish.
31:45Mitch:Yeah, cuz it was kind of repetitive. Yeah, we played like three levels, I think yeah but yeah, it's, it's a. It's real repetitive, like you just run from dinosaurs shoot.
31:54Tom:Do do the objectives. Yeah, you find stuff, you call in stuff to send stuff flying into space, and then some dinosaurs show up. You kill the dinosaurs, you go the next spot. Mm-hmm. You kill those dinosaurs.
32:07Mitch:And to me it reminded me a lot of like the Left 4 Dead series. Just yeah dinosaurs are the zombies. Yeah, like each person had like .
32:13Tom:Yeah, the dinosaurs look good. Oh yeah, I don't know what my guy's special ability was.
32:17Mitch:I had a mini gun supposedly that's not the special ability, but I could mow everybody down, yeah well, supposedly there was like more Dinosaurs or something in the game, but we never saw him and we played on easy and hard mode just to see you know what would show up.
32:29Tom:Yeah, a lot of the raptor thingies.
32:30Mitch:Yeah, there's Tons and tons of those.
32:33Tom:There was the electric ones that like blinded you? Yeah, they had like flashbang grenades on them, which I thought was a little suss, hackers. And then there was, like the, the plated turtle monster.
32:45Mitch:Yeah, the stegosaurus .
32:46Tom:Yeah, you had to something like that some some stupid crap like that You're a paleontologist go ahead and write to us and tell us how wrong we are. You had to knock on its side or on its back so you could shoot it in the belly and kill it. Yeah, and that was annoying. Then they try Sarah tops, but that was easy to take down. Yeah, the damn thing it was like and there he goes. But I mean the funniest part, I had plenty. There's a mission we have to go to, like a mine, and you have to go. You have to escort two carts down to the mines, so I took one , mitch and Hayden took the other, and of course you have to fight some dinosaurs along the way and set everything up, then you get ready to blow it and then you got a haul ass out of
33:27Tom:there. So I Get to mine. I set mine first. I run over to Mitch and Hayden set theirs and it's like, oh, we got set the bombs, we set the bombs and I just take off running. It's I'd already left, he was gone.
33:41Mitch:Tom was set the blast bomb and I was already on my way out.
33:44Tom:So I haul, I haul myself out of there and I'm running just past dinosaur might bother and shoot at him.
33:48Mitch:I'm just like nope, I'll shoot him when I get outside for the most part, you could run past the dinosaurs before they had a chance to React and attack you.
33:54Tom:Such I just which I don't think is how real dinosaurs would do that, but also I don't think they be coordinated enough to operate a mine shaft. But who am I to say? So I go out and I find Mitch. I see his little marker. I get outside wrist and we kill the dinosaurs who had followed us oh, like four of them out of like the 85 that we found it down there and then all we hear is just Hayden screaming. And I look, I just see his marker, like below ground, like you know, 200 meters past us, and I just hear yelling. I'm just watching it go around the screen.
34:26Mitch:And he's like how do I get out?
34:28Tom:See his name going back and forth and it's like should we go get him? It's like, nah, and he's just, I was like he's like come help me. I was like we figured it out.
34:37Mitch:You have to figure it out. No one helped us. He'll make his way. Give it time. If he dies, he'll spot on here with us if he dies, he dies.
34:45Tom:So Hayden was abandoned and then after like two minutes and like the things going like, get out, get out. Yeah, like it's gonna blow Good thing, it wasn't really timed. Yeah, if it was really time, hayden totally would have died. That mine chef would have collapsed on him, yeah. So he's like yeah, this one's glowing, just like all these weird yells and callouts as you just see his marker flying across your TV while he's yelling trying to get out. So that was funny. But the game it's not bad. I give it a six out of ten. It's kind of it's repetitive. Yeah my, you land in a spot. Or, in Hayden's case, we picked the objective spot and he spawns us on the far side of the island. So we have to go through everywhere and kill everybody
35:22Tom:just to get to where we could have been, and and walk 20 feet to the objectives and start from there and then every time we leave we have to extract.
35:29Mitch:So you have to like activate this beacon and you have to basically survive and that was funny Just to those stegosaurus.
35:34Tom:Things like got onto the, you know, drop ship and we're waiting for Hayden and me and Mitchell running out of ammo and a mini gun in the freaking doorway trying to kill him and they'd be started crawling in.
35:44Mitch:We're like, no, we had to wait because Hayden jumped too soon and got killed by the plane as it came down, so we had to wait for him to spawn back in. When you spawn in, you have to drop from the air, hit the ground and then get out of your little pod and then run. So we're just sitting there fighting dinosaurs at the back of the plane, waiting for.
36:00Tom:I'm gonna go, guys point, I was punching him in the face because I was out of ammo. So then Hayden just shows up and then we take off flying and the stupid things are still in there. I don't know if you saw it. Yeah, you saw them just fall out.
36:11Mitch:Yeah, the plane takes off and you just see him being like dragged behind all so they just drop.
36:19Tom:It had its moments, but the game is pretty repetitive yeah.
36:22Mitch:I mean, it's basically just shoot the dinosaurs, run. Do this objective Survive.
36:27Tom:I mean it was more of like an interesting campaign where, like, you're introduced to different types of dinosaurs or like certain areas, like, have these kinds of things, you have to have certain stuff to deal with it. Yeah, there's, you know, more plot stuff. You know it could be an interesting game and like the same objectives over and over and over.
36:43Mitch:I mean you can like upgrade your guns and things like that, but it's, it's min miniscule things where, like you know, makes it a little more, damage a little more handling. That's pretty much it. I mean not much to it, but you know, it's still a game preview, so maybe they'll change that stuff. Who knows?
36:57Tom:it was pretty lame, yeah, looking back on like that, it was kind of a lame game the very first playthrough was fun Because we didn't know what we were doing.
37:05Mitch:And then after that it was like I mean I told you, I like, oh, we're like fighting a couple of them. I just ran past everyone to go to the mine shaft because, like I was running past and none of the dinosaurs, band-in'd again by our team. I ran and the dinosaurs would be like brah and I just run past and they like they went to you chase me. Yeah, pretty much. I mean like I was running like five feet from some of them as I just ran past and they didn't chase me Once it like out of their compound area.
37:28Tom:So I want to some news. What's the game that we're waiting for? Crimson Desert? Oh, we're waiting for that one. We are the it's a open world. That's the one that had like those hyper real Graphics that you like, you saw on my youtube ads. I was like because of the, the graphics look almost like a movie.
37:52Mitch:Yeah, trust me.
37:53Tom:That's how good it looks, but they delayed their game. Oh, was it? South korea's pearl abyss is the one who's making it. It's an open world game coming up.
38:03Mitch:Okay.
38:04Tom:Um, that, yeah, the game's not ready and we have no intention of allowing it to be released Until it's ready. Okay unlike Cyberpunk 2077. That's what it was like they literally just threw shade at him like it's like we saw what you did. We're not doing that. We will release it when it's done and done, right? Yeah, not, oh, we were delayed it. Oh, he's like oh, just here, take it.
38:29Mitch:Yeah, pretty much.
38:29Tom:Yeah, much to Hayden chagrin, because how much to crap did he talk about that game ?
38:35Mitch:He said it was gonna revolutionize. You know mmo's. Yeah, it would have been fun if it worked.
38:40Tom:If you want to go, back to old episodes and see what uh other stuff he had, how much stuff he talked about and like I got delayed, I got delayed, and then it's like we've always like it's not good, it's not, it's not a good game.
38:53Mitch:It would have been good if the bugs and stuff were fixed, but it was it was not good.
38:58Tom:So crimson desert, learning from the mistakes of cd project reds, cyberpunk 2077, have elected to withhold the game until it's finally completed and in the spirit you look at it like boiled down. It's like that's like ordering a pizza and they send it to you and it's just raw dough with uncooked tomato sauce and raw and you know, uncooked cheese and two pieces of pepperoni. Go, all right, here you go, do the rest. All right, you're right, I'm doing it here. You get this. Is it eat?
39:25Mitch:it, the tomato sauce.
39:26Tom:You just got tomatoes and then like an update is like a guy comes to your house, takes it out of the trash, puts it in the oven For five minutes and it's kind of cooked, but it's not all the way there yet and it's like all right, there you go. That's what it's like. Yeah. And that ends our news and reviews.
39:44Mitch:Anyways, well, our uh . We were gonna do trivia today and it was supposed to be between me and Hayden.
39:50Tom:But since Hayden's not here he automatically loses. That's true. So, in the spirit of fairness, we look, and we I was. We toyed with briefly, I toyed briefly with the idea we just would forgo the punishment, yeah , and then I thought back to our original agreements, which is if you're not here, you get punished automatically.
40:09Mitch:I like that better.
40:10Tom:I do like that better , because but it's not as entertaining, true, that Hayden's just flat out punished. I mean, he's suffering enough.
40:17Mitch:Is he?
40:18Tom:I don't know if he couldn't be here. Is he really? He's not like he was dying last night. Yeah, we're playing. It sound like you were playing with somebody in like a hospital . He's just like I got just waiting for a nurse at the time for response back and he's like, oh All right, he just did not sound good.
40:38Mitch:He sounded miserable. But uh, yes, since we're uh Not doing that, I think we're gonna talk about the uh battle royal game revolution, which is just kind of like you know how, where the battle royale genre has pretty much just taken over the shooter Gaming world. I mean pretty much every shooting game is has some kind of battle royale that they've delved into.
41:01Tom:I think the big reason it's it's caught on in such a big way Is it's still team-based, but it's you and your friends fighting against all these other random people. You know like team deathmatches , but at the end you have to be the only one still alive.
41:16Mitch:So there's more of like a that competitive factor.
41:18Tom:It's more competitive in that aspen versus you know, or 6v6 team deathmatch, yeah, where it's like, oh, we got him and you just go right into the next one, just go right in the next one. You know you win, you lose, you win, you lose. But he's like you're just running around killings, like it's, this is the same thing, but there's more that has to happen. Yeah, you have. You guys have to be more. You know team players calling stuff out, moving, you know dropping ammo. It's like, oh, I found this, you need it here. It's like, oh, we got the zone, we got to move. And like the whole open world and coming across all these other people that you don't know right off the bat when they are . Like you play on a map, you know roughly where everybody is.
41:49Tom:Yeah, this is more. You got. You run into them on accident, or you think they're there and they're not, or you find stuff to help you locate people and then you could kill by hackers.
41:59Mitch:Well, I mean using warzone as A example, because that's what we've played the most, you know, like it. When the planets align and the three of us work as a team completely, we win. Oh, we dominate but there's other times where you know it's a band and see. Or Tom rushes by himself.
42:19Tom:Yeah, I down to. I don't, I don't want to hear it, but uh.
42:21Mitch:I mean, you, you've got to read the room, bitch, read the room when we're playing . Oh yeah, okay, my bad, but uh, it is a very much any kind of the battle royal if you're playing anything but solo. It is a teamwork kind of game and and so is this garbage and I like that because you actually have to invest in what you're doing, like you know, like we were saying, with just regular multiplayer You're you know, one guy can save a team because you got to get so many points in you know 10 minutes.
42:49Tom:Yeah, if you got the one guy in your team who's just blasting people away, or you're that guy. You know You're like I am winning, but when you, you know you just kind of suck and like some guys, taking all the kills you're trying to and you know you're getting marked by other people and you just keep responding and respond, you'll lose as its accomplishment.
43:04Mitch:No, where is like factor for some of these battle royals? Like you know one guy, if you're like the streamers and stuff, you know, maybe he can take out a whole team of four, but for the most part maybe I can once in a blue moon, if they suck but for the most part you you've got to work together, you've got to at least coordinate with each other as far as like what you're doing and it makes it more fun to me. And then you know war zone, you can get your loadouts, but like in, uh, I guess, fortnight, apex and pub g, you you have to go and find your weapons and stuff, which you do that to begin at a war zone until you get the money to get your own or you get to your loadout thing.
43:38Tom:But I know there was other battle royals before, like you know, the fortnight and pub g craze. You know, like fortnight came out, I played it one time and I thought it was the stupidest game I ever played. And my buddy's like, oh, you gotta play pub g. Yeah, I know, like it's not really done yet, it's glitchy, it's weird, but it's like it's more realistic. Fortnight. And I was like, can you just run around and like build crap, like now? You got to run. It's like you and a hundred people. You got to find all your equipment, you know Special clothes if you want them, backpacks, vests, guns, ammo, meds, all the whole deal you got to hunt it all down while fighting everybody else and moving into his own, and I was
44:13Tom:like, well, that sounds fun, played that, won a whole bunch of times, had a lot of fun playing it. And then war zone happened, or well, blackout happened.
44:22Mitch:Oh yeah, that was black ops fours. Yeah, their version version which was a lot like pub g, where you had to find the weapons and the attachments and all that.
44:30Tom:Which I didn't play because black ops four was a stupid game in garbage.
44:33Mitch:I played it a little bit, not a whole lot.
44:35Tom:I didn't care for that game. So Then war zone came out, and war zones peak was the halloween event.
44:42Mitch:Yeah, that was a lot of fun with zombies, but I mean Like how many other games are like coming out with?
44:49Tom:stuff like battlefield is going to have their own, halo is going to have one.
44:52Mitch:Well, they said battle, battlefield didn't say they're going to have that there's some other game mode that they haven't really it's a battle royale.
44:59Tom:But they won't call it a battle royale, just says, because they want to seem different, just because every one's war zone happened. It's like oh, apex legends, which is a really fun, cool game .
45:07Mitch:Free to play and then you know, like the new halo, they've they've mentioned that they've toyed with the idea, but they haven't exactly said how that'll work and it wouldn't be to begin like coming out to begin with when the game first releases, or like what valorant, I think is out.
45:20Tom:I know it's out, but that's a battle royale game. And then there's like different , not even like shooters. Yeah that are doing battle royale style stuff.
45:28Mitch:Well, yeah, because like you, we have like the gang beast that we played where.
45:31Tom:That's pretty much a mini battle royale six guys or more. Yeah, on on this like or like gang beasts or something, or like a was it called, fall guys.
45:40Mitch:Yeah, we're basically .
45:42Tom:You're just, you know , run the crap out of each other in some crazy spot and hoping for the best.
45:49Mitch:But I have to say, like, between like, like the main four that are popular right now, which is apex, warzone, fortnight and pubg, they're all a little bit different the way they, the mechanics and stuff work you know I'm pretty pubg in fortnight.
46:02Tom:I pretty much are fading.
46:04Mitch:Yeah, I mean fortnight, it was the whole. You build this and you know.
46:07Tom:I mean, there was competitions and world life tournaments, the same thing with pubg, but you don't see a lot of it now. Now it's all about warzone.
46:14Mitch:Yeah, I mean fortnight. They had a lot of the they've tried to get, I guess, to a maintain popularity. They knew they had the marvel event, some kind of zombie event there are wars or something they're supposed to have a predator kind of event where, like you can all like earn these different skins and stuff your characters and Apex apex is picking up big time because a lot of the streamers now who have gotten fed up with warzone.
46:36Tom:Warzone are switching to apex.
46:38Mitch:And I've played that a couple of times. When it first come out, I just never could get into that one, but I'm gonna have to try it.
46:44Tom:I mean, if you're one of the two people who talks to us about this show, you know who the rest of you are, who don't comment or say anything, the silent majority. If you want to see us play in apex and post some videos of that content, let us know. We'll be more than happy to play.
47:01Mitch:But as far as like the battle royales and stuff like pubg, I liked it because, as you can tell, in warzone I'm a lot slower of a player.
47:08Tom:I like to be are you Tell me, are you?
47:11Mitch:I like to be a little more methodical of my approaches. Which pubg was a lot slower playing game because you could.
47:17Tom:You could just who's how slow this is. If he knew for a fact, a certain bush on the map would be the last spot in the map he could be. He would spend the whole time in a ghillie suit sitting there waiting.
47:28Mitch:I don't care if I get zero win or zero kills, I just want the wind and he could. The other guy could die to the gas and I have zero kills as long as I'm.
47:35Tom:Which wants to w, but he's not willing to sacrifice a damn thing to get it. I'll do what I must. He'll sacrifice Hayden and me. I'll sacrifice Hayden.
47:44Mitch:I did that last night too. Hayden was like I'm dying and I was parachuting back in on the research.
47:48Tom:I know and he was just laying up there, I was like I was reloading and just watching it happen and then, like they all ran out to like loot him and I killed him.
47:56Mitch:Well, like I saw him like dying, I was like there he is, I'll load out over there.
48:01Tom:Bye, I'm gonna grab my stuff first. Hold on, buddy.
48:04Mitch:I'm coming. Abandoned him, like the government abandoned the US Army in the Philippines like the three of us were all on top of the roof and he's like somebody could save me. I was like just kill yourself yeah.
48:16Tom:I thought he was gonna like he didn't do it in time I did, because I got down saw the Uh Resurgence like indicator time record, like it was like point. It was like 1.2, 1.1. I was like oh crap. And I was like I just ended my own life and like it was like respawning 40 seconds. I was like, yes, I made it and Hayden's just like I'm dead.
48:36Mitch:I felt bad because I was like kill yourself, I'm not coming down there, just kill yourself so you can respond. And I was too late. I was like oh, my bad, there's nothing I can do now.
48:46Tom:I mean anybody who plays like a group of dudes enough. You know the quirkiness of this crap where it's like the little things that happen that are just funny when you talk about it, everybody else can relate to it. It's like, oh, that's like you. Or like, oh, you do stuff like that. It's like, oh, does one of your friends do this? It's the same deal.
49:04Mitch:Well, supposedly for like these new games, like battlefield, they did show where , like, some gameplay got leaked , yeah, and I mean I'm assuming it was on the next gen consoles, because the graphics look just like the trailers and stuff as far as, like, I'm fully expecting this game to be Well, well done. I'm. I've never been a big battlefield fan, just because their graphics are always good. Yeah, the graphics are good. I just I've never got into that gameplay as much because I felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything Because they're so grand of a scale that my team of four or five I didn't feel like we were actually doing anything other than just shooting at other people.
49:38Tom:Yeah, that's the weird thing about battlefield when you play those pickups I even like battlefield one because I love battlefield one you know, run around the martini henry, it'd be me and like my group of five and we'd be, I'd be sniping, they'd be running around and you know we'd win. After playing, like, whatever the game was, they had to put a time limit just because the game would last three hours. Yeah, like one match and. I'd have like 200 something kills and like died 20 times. I'm like, oh my god, it's like how you feel like you're really fought yeah. But, I really feel like you really contributed overall.
50:08Mitch:Yeah, I mean because there's so much happening and then it's hard to like get five guys to take over a base completely when you have all these other players that when they see it happening they're coming after you, but you know the rest of your team's doing whatever so it's you five versus the whole.
50:19Tom:You know, yes, other team as they're trying to take that back, and being on the other teams like oh, they're taking the reject and your whole , like whole team, the army, yeah, just like converge over there, and like everybody meets up and it's awesome, but then like that's it. I've been in one game I think maybe two. We're like. That happened at like one of our objectives. We swarmed it, killed everybody , took it back and then all of us ran to the next one in like mass, like there was like it was 60 of us, yeah, and there was only like three guys holding it and we just storm troopered our way through like everybody in the game just kept going forward and it was awesome, it was such a fun time.
50:52Tom:But that doesn't happen.
50:54Mitch:Yeah, not all the time All that often.
50:57Tom:That's a big thing, like uh, like special servers, like people will get in and like you know a lot of more comms and stuff. So there's like discord stuff and PCs where they're all talking to each other, or like all the squads are in, like some of them could talk to around to the other people, or like all chat, or like you know just teams and like they coordinate everything, but it's the whole server. Is people on both sides of the teams doing the same thing, trying to have that coordination . So it's a great gameplay which consoles never had.
51:25Mitch:Like there the one game that I told you in time. I'm not saying you and Tom, you had hate about is a time about it. Probably doesn't remember but it was the hunt showdown. It's kind of like a battle royale, where it's ever. It's a lot smaller. I think there's up to 12 players, so you can have, uh, four teams of three or, you know they can have solo players, so you can have like 12 solos or, like you know, couple teams, a couple guys on their own to do over something. Yeah, which it's a little different. Like you have to go to perform an objective, like you have to research certain areas to try and find out where the main objective is. And you know, as you encounter these people, you know it's it's
52:03Mitch:your team versus them. You got to be the last one to live or finish the objective and then abstract, extract through the area and it's, you know, it's interesting because it's a lot like older period, like late 1800s, early 1900s weaponry. So it's all level playing field , like you can't have your own loadout other than you know a lot more skill is involved. Yeah, it's skill and teamwork take a lot into effect on this one, because you can't just like run in and gun people down because it's like single shot guns and stuff like that. So it's interesting I just wonder where, like at what point is the battle royal thing just kind of be kind of like oversaturated to the point where people are just like again
52:43Mitch:really, yeah, I think.
52:44Tom:I mean, I don't know what else they're going to do to come out with something different.
52:48Mitch:Yeah.
52:49Tom:But nobody saw battle royales coming either.
52:51Mitch:So true, I mean. I'm sure in the next year it would be cool to have some of these things like the mass, like the. The battlefield says it's like the new one's going to have like 128 players. Yeah, it would be cool if somebody could have some servers where it is like full on war, like like with Halo. You just go in onto this planet and it's like a 24 seven battle fight Whoever's online is on that battle.
53:14Tom:I thought that was cool. That would be something that I'm sure there's been a game like that, that maybe something on PC.
53:20Mitch:I know that, like you have the ever was ever space or something like that, we're even online. Even online, yeah Well that's a yeah.
53:26Tom:That's like saying, like World of Warcraft, well, yeah, it's different. It's in terms like the game's constantly going on. There's people doing stuff everywhere.
53:33Mitch:It's different.
53:34Tom:Has like a whole culture behind where there's like corporations, people work for each other. Yeah, you know people. Eve is in real money can be involved. It's that's a little much, probably for the casual console Like battle royals.
53:46Mitch:It would just be neat to see something that was like continuously ongoing and you know it's one versus the other the entire time. I don't know.
53:55Tom:But no, if you think there are, you have any ideas and thoughts on the matter, right to us, talk to us, we're here. So since we're not, well, I guess you know we will do trivia . Oh, we will against each other, but you know the answers. No, I'm going to ask you Lord of the Rings questions. Oh, oh, you ask me, like Ninja Turtle, questions.
54:13Mitch:Oh well, this would have been easier to know. I had a new head, but okay.
54:16Tom:So it's trivia on the spot. So we'll do 10 questions and I'll have my own little tally of how many you get right. Okay, and so 10 questions, and I'm just going to.
54:29Mitch:You know, I'm not going to get these about the rings right.
54:32Tom:I'm not going to be told douche about it.
54:34Mitch:I might, but it depends on how well it's done.
54:37Tom:So you go ahead and lead it off. Ask me a teenage mutant Ninja Turtle question.
54:42Mitch:What is the name of the corporation in the comics that created the ooze?
54:49Tom:No idea.
54:50Mitch:TCR.
54:51Tom:TCR. All right, well, you have one point now We'll see a good Lord of the Rings question how old is Bilbo at his birthday party?
55:05Mitch:200. No 111. I knew it was like a hundred, like in the hundreds, I just didn't know exactly where part.
55:13Tom:All right, well this isn't going well.
55:16Mitch:No, let's see what is the Ninja Turtle that were. That was created by the bad guys. I just because different versions of different bad guys created, but he has like a black bandana Is he named after some sort of Renaissance painter?
55:32Tom:No, he typically has a black bandana.
55:36Mitch:He's typically fights all four turtles at once. He's pretty popular.
55:42Tom:Shredder.
55:42Mitch:No, damn it. Slash, slash. He's been like every version of the character somehow.
55:47Tom:They would have been, like you know, van Gogh or something, just some other Renaissance Fleming.
55:54Mitch:Like I know, like the 87 cartoon, he was a bebop's little pet turtle that got accidentally transformed in a. In a was it a, I think, the most recent versions that they've had on TV. He's been like a, a cring, like test subject that got turned into him, so different things.
56:13Tom:Anyways, what is Gandalf's Gandalf's sword called ?
56:22Mitch:That's a good question, I'm sure it is.
56:24Tom:It's one I know easily.
56:25Mitch:But I knew it when I was asking you questions about it, but I forgot it now.
56:30Tom:I don't know, glamdring. Okay, okay, I'll take your word for it. I mean, you have to, I have no way.
56:39Mitch:Let's see what are the two monsters created in secret of the ooze to, which is like the live action original Ninja Turtles. It's not bebop and rock steady from the cartoon, but I never saw them.
56:55Tom:You never saw that movie. Oh my God.
56:56Mitch:I saw it when they went to feudal Japan.
56:58Tom:Oh, but I saw that in like the nineties oh, this is the one before that.
57:02Mitch:This is like 92 maybe . Um thing, one thing, to button head Toka and razor Toka and razor Toka was like a snap. Internal razor was a wolf. Yeah, they're pretty cool.
57:17Tom:No one's doing well in this. We're about to start dumbing it down. I thought that was an easy question All right, let me see here how many wizards are there.
57:31Mitch:Five. Yes, I'm excited. I know there's one for each direction and then there's like one more. That's like over them, right.
57:38Tom:Yeah, the white, the gray, the brown and the two blue wizards.
57:42Mitch:Okay, I got one. You did Most impressive so all right In the uh, the eighties and nineties TV show. What was the base that the shredder and crane worked out of ?
57:55Tom:The base Like a little.
57:57Mitch:Yeah, they had this big like globe looking thing that was like uh, they would travel around underground, had a big eyeball on top. I don't know the techno drone.
58:08Tom:Oh, that's so lame, that's so dumb. I don't like that. What? Or actually yeah. No. How many kids does Elrond have? Nine, no no, three, three. Okay, arwen, and then his two twin sons.
58:37Mitch:Okay, I was thinking, I was like, I was trying to think of like maybe it mirrored the race or something like that.
58:42Tom:No, that's the fellowship number count oh yeah, yeah that's right. Nine walkers against the nine riders.
58:48Mitch:Yeah, that's right.
58:50Tom:That's one wrong. Oh, when four so far on, or what? No, you're one in. You're one in three on trivia right now and more of the rings. Yeah, I'm surprised you knew the one about the wizards, didn't see that coming.
59:03Mitch:It was. Yeah, I was a guess. It's only because I remember trying to look up questions for you and then Hayden was like, oh yeah, that would be too easy for him. I was like, oh okay. Yeah, now Hayden's saying Um, let's see what is the name of the alligator that, like the mutant alligator that they encounter, and he's got the same name in any kind of incarnation .
59:26Tom:Snapper, I don't know . Alligator face Leatherhead, Leatherhead. Oh, oh coach handbag, I don't know. Leatherhead, yeah, he's a leatherhead.
59:36Mitch:He's the alligator thing and like in the original cartoons he has like a Cajun accent. He always talks about his gumbo .
59:45Tom:He's gotta make the gumbo right out there in the bayou.
59:48Mitch:He walked around with his cowboy hat and whip.
59:50Tom:Was he Indiana Jones?
59:53Mitch:I don't know, but that was what that was like. It's this thing that's so tough .
59:57Tom:Well, all right. What is Gandalf's horse's name?
1:00:04Mitch:I know this one. I know this one.
1:00:07Tom:That's not the horse's name, shadowfax. Yes, You're like dead coming. No, that was a bit of a ground ball kind of yeah it was?
1:00:17Mitch:It was one of those that I researched for, yours as well. Got told it was too easy of a question. Let's see what year was the original Ninja Turtles movie made?
1:00:31Tom:1990. Yes, you got a question. I got a question, right? Yeah, I'm not. I'm not getting skunked. What is Saruman's tower called, Not Isengard the area. The tower is the tower of what. It's not dim. I'll tell you that I have no idea.
1:00:58Mitch:That was going to be my guess, because you said it could be Isengard. I was going to say tower, or do I don't know? I have no idea.
1:01:02Tom:Or think.
1:01:03Mitch:Yeah, I'll never guess that. Let's see, there's two female Ninja Turtles. If you can name either one of them, I'll give you credit. If you just name one of them.
1:01:18Tom:Maggie, no, tina.
1:01:20Mitch:No.
1:01:22Tom:Dagmar, it's a German name there was Venus and Jeanneka.
1:01:29Mitch:Yeah, I wasn't how many, how many questions in are we.
1:01:36Tom:That should be questions eight, I think okay, for you. So two more piece I got. I'm on six or something. This is be good. Question seven what is the capital of Rohan?
1:01:55Mitch:Rohan no.
1:01:58Tom:Rohan is the realm.
1:01:59Mitch:Oh.
1:02:03Tom:I don't know, edirass .
1:02:05Mitch:Yeah.
1:02:08Tom:Edirass.
1:02:18Mitch:What are the weapons that Raphael has called sigh okay?
1:02:25Tom:I was like Raphael's, the red one.
1:02:27Mitch:That's all. I didn't specify the color. I was like.
1:02:29Tom:Raphael, he's the angry one.
1:02:31Mitch:He has little tiny stabby swords.
1:02:42Tom:Who had the ring. Second, after it was cut off, sauron's hand.
1:02:59Mitch:Wasn't Bilbo and it wasn't smeagol. Yeah, it was smeagol, wasn't it no?
1:03:05Tom:Oh, it was Diggle, oh yeah, the cousin.
1:03:07Mitch:Yeah, the one that he kills, yeah, cuz he gets it. The one who?
1:03:10Tom:had the ring for the least amount of time.
1:03:12Mitch:Yeah, yeah, cuz it's megol kills him to take it. Yeah, you're right, oh I.
1:03:17Tom:Was like a little bit of loose trivia right there.
1:03:20Mitch:So what? One more piece?
1:03:21Tom:Yeah, we do that. We're all tied up here.
1:03:30Mitch:What? What's the name of the robot that Donatello creates? That's like a turtle shaped Robot that kind of turns on him, becomes bad in some versions, some versions good. The most recent comic version he's like. Donatello shared his body for like because his mind was in the robot for a while. You fight him in all in the turtles in time game. It's real simple robot metalhead.
1:04:09Tom:I should have learned from leather head and you've been like no, it was polymer head, damn it All right Well all right. So my turn. Last question what All right? Erdogan sword is Narsiel and reforges it's on, do real. What does that mean? Was that? What was that stand for?
1:04:41Mitch:Reforged sword.
1:04:45Tom:Flame of the West.
1:04:48Mitch:I don't know anything about Lord of the Rings, other stuff. I looked up to try and quiz you . Oh, other than like basic names of people, we both got two questions right damn it.
1:05:02Tom:This is backfire In the. In the interest of a tie, do we just punish each other?
1:05:11Mitch:I think we just punish Hayden.
1:05:12Tom:Yeah, I think you're right. Sorry, we wasted your time. Uh-huh, santa shark.
1:05:18Mitch:Santa shark.
1:05:19Tom:Yeah, I saw it when I had to watch, not the. Yeah, he had to watch the movie the Velocirp pastor. Oh, okay, it was free on Amazon .
1:05:26Mitch:Well, there you go, hayden. When you listen, you get to hear me see there's some sort of trailer. There has to be and you know, I think it's, it's all come full circle, because he's the one that came up with the rule that if you miss, you get punished, and he was the first one to miss . Yes, he was oh.
1:05:43Tom:No, it's not sandwiched, it's Santa Jaws, santa Jaws. All right, I think it's Santa. I thought it was Santa shark, I don't know. Oh my god, it's like the stupidest looking shark. It looks like the shark from what's it? The Batman movie. Adam West is punching it.
1:06:04Mitch:It's got a shark repellent, yeah it has painted on eyes.
1:06:06Tom:That's what this looks like, which is hysterical. Should be a trailer, some kind of sure.
1:06:21Mitch:Santa Jaws.
1:06:27Tom:It has the hat. Is Santa head on the fin? No run, kids, get out of there. Santa shark is coming. You've been naughty.
1:06:41Mitch:Wow.
1:06:44Tom:I want to know what the premise of this and why is this Christmas themed? These kids have crossbows, but kid has a spear with Christmas lights wrapped around it. What is this movie? Why is this a thing I I hate? Them sure will tells. Oh, he got him in the fin. All these is the trailer. Things just done. Fighting a shark when he throw an ornament that's a grenade. Yep, yes, I could even see what happened and that was my guess.
1:07:17Mitch:I thought he threw the other kid in right, I was gonna get it.
1:07:20Tom:Oh, come on the shots gonna bite his hand. Come on, bite his hand. There we, here we go. Oh my god. Oh, the shark has Christmas lights, on him, how festive. Oh, oh, they got Timmy okay, well, have fun that looks terrible. Hey, now Hope you enjoy that. So any who's? I'm Tom, I'm Mitch and we'll see you next week, hopefully.
1:07:46Mitch:hey, they'll be back.
1:07:47Tom:Yeah, probably, yeah, I should be fun. You won't die now. Yeah, yeah.
